I didn’t like it & didn’t enjoy my round. The Black Course is way too tough for Recreational players. If you aren’t a *good* Intermediate player the Black Course is not for you. WARNING: Almost all the Black tee pads need to be replaced. They are restrictive to a players follow thru with wood plank barriers on the front of the tees you can trip on. WARNING: Almost all the Black tee pads need to be replaced. They are restrictive to a players follow thru with wood plank barriers on the front of the tees you can trip on. The cement is uneven & affects your run ups. Run ups often difficult if not impossible on field fairway shots due to terribly difficult elevation changes that makes your footing tough on the hills. It affects attaining any sort of momentum coming behind your shots.
There are too many legit Par 5’s & not enough birdie opportunities to make up for at least some of them.
It’s long. It’s hilly. When you are walking on the hills often times it is at an angle & can be very painful on every step. All my toes on my right foot are hurting pretty irritably after that round.
Mostly this course is just a pain in the ass. Too much up & down. Too many shots out in long open fields w no obstacles or finesse necessary. Nothing memorable. Nothing that gives you the feeling of needing to come back & take that shot or hole over again.
If you want to do it get ready for *WAR* because this course is *not* fun.
The Barn was a huge disappointment.
I thought it was going to be like a clubhouse (ex.: The Nati at Mt. Airy in Cincinnati) that sold more merchandise.
I feel like I will probably never go back to Grand Vue Park after my lone experience.
It didn’t live up to the hype & is overrated.
It is so tough that it’s not fun to play.
I seriously dislike the Black Course.

This is a big course for big and accurate arms. There is extreme elevation change and plenty of complex lines to choose from on many of the wooded fareways. That being said this seems like a Professional Only course. There is no forgiveness to arrent shots, and no option for shorter tees (although there are 2 other courses on the facility that are orientated to beginners -Yellow Course and more advance platyers-partially completed white course). It's big with lots of uphill walking but it gets you to the top of the hills very smoothly from hole to hole. Hole 1 is pretty short and goofy but it gets to the meat of the course on hole 2. It's big with lots of uphill walking but it gets you to the top of the hills very smoothly from hole to hole. Hole 1 is pretty short and goofy but it gets to the meat of the course on hole 2. My only complaint is the terrible tee pads. They are way too short with many not having much space behind them. They aren't concrete but more of a rough black top mix which also leads to some gravel coming loose as you throw. They are tough for as big as most throws need to be. No complaints on the hole design though. Every hole has a nice fairway and basket placements are tough.
As for the park itself the place is second to none. Well manicured with benches and trash cans everywhere. Nice bathrooms and facilities. It has everything. We went zip lining after the round. There is ball golf, mini golf, ice cream shop, pro shop (that has a few nice discs for sale) and even a decent resteraunt. I'm sure it has a ton more we didn't get a chance to explore. Very cool spot and I highly recommend it!

Impressive course. Great mix of long any short holes. Mostly technical , but with a handful of "let it rip shots". I really enjoyed the front mix of short>long>short>long... Etc. Like others reviews have said, teepads aren't the best. A little shirt for my liking with a board 2/3 down across it. Framed up with loose gravel. Like others reviews have said, teepads aren't the best. A little shirt for my liking with a board 2/3 down across it. Framed up with loose gravel. This made it tough to maximize distance on longer holes. The other flaw was. Some parking lots came into play. Hole 2 road/parking lot 250-325. Same lot was in play on hole 18, but not as bad. Only real bad, or short shots would be an issue.

I drove over 3 hours out of my way to play this course, and it was worth it. I highly recommend not playing it alone. Bring a friend or see if a local would be kind enough to show you around.
