Superb design and course layout, crazy tee shot over the water on hole 15- can't wait to go back!

There are not too many things wrong with the course so i'll get to those first. The first three holes are not real exciting, and are just open field shots at 410', 380', and 660'. A little boring to start the round, but not too bad. The back 9 is a long walk from the parking area and the front 9, which isn't the biggest deal, but a mild annoyance.

Other than those small issues, the course is great, especially for being on an army base. Great variety in the shots required for each hole keeps you thinking and forces you to be able to mix up your game a little throughout a round.

After designing a course on another military post (Moon Lake @ Fort Riley, KS), I can only assume there was an incredible amount of red tape with DPW and MWR on post. Not being able to carve fairways through the woods or alter too much naturally really limits what you can do. With that said, the course was laid out very well with what they had to work with. PRO's: The course requires almost every type of shot. During my round I was required (or chose) to throw backhand, forehand, rollers, sp ...

Great 18 Hole course with just the right mixture of bombs and tech shots. Very well laid out and could support a huge tournament since hardly any of the holes play over each other. The tee pads were natural-ish and there was a long haul from #18 back to the parking lot. Other than that, this course has lots to offer and is a definite stop on the road trip. If you decide to play this course, be prepared not only to show your liscence at the guard shack entering the base, but also bring your swimming trunks as holes 13,14,15 all have a potential for some plastic to end up in the drink!
