That's a potential bummer. The EAB kicked Raintree's ass, but that walking path dealt it the KO punch.

The city has plans to finish off all of their parks like they did at Raintree with a walking path. The City's funds the past few years due to the economic slump have delayed all of their progress. Knowing this, we can only see what it would do to teepad 3, teepad 6, basket 7, 10 teepad, basket 11, 12 teepad, 15 teepad, basket 17, and both 18's tee pad and basket. This is the main reason, in addition with my lack of organizing where 18's new teepad would be placed, why we have not ... more

I think the issue with moving 2 and 7 is they will be closer to the road and the path that walkers use on 7's side of the river. I've seen plenty drives on 12 hyzer in over 13's pad, so I don't think pushing the basket right would be safe. As for 18, I heard talk of adding a section of pad so it would look like a Y and you'd have a section of the pad going straight at the bucket.

If the city would let us put rocks in place of the signs I'm sure we could work some ... more

I like the ideas about the rocks. Has anyone really given any thought to maybe moving some baskets? Moving 2 further and more to the right? Moving 7 further and to the right, moving 10 further back, moving 12 more to the right, moving 17 way right behind the bushes, moving 18' tee pad? Adding a few holes to where the Classic has them? Just some ideas to open course up a bit and so people are not by a basket while on a tee pad? Thought I would throw it out there

I finally remembered to actually look at the baskets during my after-work round today. 1, 2, and 5 do look like they need attention. The top of the cage on 17 is warped all the way around, but doesn't look like it really affects putting. Other than that I think the course is in pretty decent shape.

I was talking to my newb golfer friend about the signs during our weekend round. I realized that I completely forgot the signs were there from never paying attention to them. I don't pay ... more

I agree with 1. 2 is pretty beat up. I don't know about 5. I'll try to remember to see how those baskets compare to the rest tonight.

Cool. I have the 3 baskets ready for installation but they have asked me to hold off until April. After further discussion I think we should focus on 1, 2, and 5. Basket 1 because I beleive it is the only short cage left on the course. Any thoughts?

Break out the hand warmers and stable plastic and come out for Freaky Friday Skins: 40 degrees and WINDY tonight according to Weather.com. Next Friday will be our first league round included in the 2011/12 Winter MiCoPS. It gets pretty chilly on Friday nights through the season and that gives our rounds plenty of opportunity to qualify for Ice Cold Double Points!

John: It looked like 7 was fixed from what I saw yesterday. Thanks for alerting the city!

Basket 7 has been reported and the city will be bringing out a portable welder to fix it.
The city does not want us installing the new baskets until after the beginning of April 2012 due to the cold.

So we should target 2, 5, and 12 then have 7 welded better?
I will call the city on Monday but they may be closed so it may have to wait until Tuesday...

Looks like the welds on the basket on 7 are broken. If just the basket itself and not the entire thing replaced it should be in good shape. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong on that.

So the Motor City Chain Gang Brag Tag is purchasing 3 new baskets for the course. We have been told baskets 2, and 5 are bad. I also heard 7 and 12 were bad along with 17 not being in great shape.
Any suggestions on which 3 we should target, post up here or send me a message...

Found a disc with a red light taped to the top on 17, initials DRB on inside rim. If it's yours tell me what it is and what color and I'll get it back to you.

I lost a yellow pearly Orc on 4 Monday night, Kink was writing in red ink on the back, the stamp was wiped. Jay went out Tuesday morning and someone was already there picking the river clean. Reward of course if returned.
