Nick - the course stays pretty empty during the winter and early spring. You might see a couple groups out, but it won't be packed by any means until closer to mid spring/summer. I work in the subdivision behind the course so I'm there most days of the week around 1 pm. It seems like 3 pm is when the high school kiddies come out to play. Beware the jackass dog walkers and their lack of leashes and lack of concern for their dog shitting in our fairways.

I'll be working down the road for the next three months from this joint. Does this course get packed with locals/casuals or can I just show up and play anytime? What time should I avoid? How are the weekends? League play here?

Let's just fix what we already have for now...at minimal cost. Remember...we don't own the park. It's a privilege just to get permission from the city to do anything in the parks. Who knows...if we're lucky, over time they may let us make all the improvements we want. Couldn't hurt moving a couple of baskets around!!! Change is good!! Just one step at a time.

Lance, scroll down to my post I made on November 23rd. It should explain the status of Firefighters. The only difference is Jeff is still the lead but I now have the direct contact to the Parks Field Supervisor. 14 up the hill might be right in line with the path but I can ask.

How about possibly moving basket 14 to the top of the hill as you do in the tourneys? I think if all this work is being done myswell make the course a little more difficult. there is so much unused space at ff that could be used to improve the difficulty of the course

Sounds like a plan! We can discuss the details on Monday night. I also want to remove all the logs, twigs and garbage from the river. Starting at the bridge by 18 and going all the way down to just past the basket of #4. This should make discs easier to find and recover. It may also speed up play!!! Course improvement is my favorite kind of work!! As always...many thanks, John!

Done. Pad realignment on 18 is planned for the early Spring as well as the installation of 3 new baskets already bought and paid for and in my loft above the garage. Pad realignment for 14 and 16, agreeing with your trip hazard concern, has not been discussed. However, we have discussed moving 11's pad north east of its current location. Currently, it is cracked, low and always wet, and in line with people playing on hole 10. Moving it north about 30 feet and east about 20 places the pad in ... more

Can we talk to the city about busting up #18 and pouring a new pad in the same spot... just facing the right direction?
#'s 14 and 16...the front halves could also be replaced and we would have perfect pads at our home course!!
I have the wood for the forms and will put in as many hours as it takes to do it.
The cost of the concrete should be minimal!! We can raise that money easily!!
Won't cost the city a dime and we're fixing a potential safety hazard as well!! GET 'ER DONE!!!

Colder weather
It had to happen sometime. Forecast is calling for a somewhat clear, 32 degree night. It is supposed to warm up enough today to melt any snow that might be on the ground before league.
