Definitely one of my fave courses and one of the most challenging I've found. Has a great mix of holes including birdie and ace run holes as well as a true par 5 hole or 2. The only potential thing missing is elevation changes.

A stunning course. Legitimate par structure including 3's, 4's, ad 5's. Course is well established and well marked. Another work of art from Harold Duvall. Yes there is a lack of elevation, but what are you going to do - your near the NC ocean and its flat in this part of the country. Lack of elevation is hardly a concern when the layout is so brilliant. Great shots are rewarded and errant shots are penalized. Risk vs. Reward has never been so well delivered by a Disc Golf Course Designer. It sh ...

I've played about 30 courses in the last few years and this along with Valley Springs in North Carolina stand out as my favourites. Great coruse in terrific shape. Challenging, but fair. Great mix of required shots.

Very challenging course. I liked how huge the trees making for a sweet canopy to escape the heat.

Well maintained with a tremendous variety of holes to keep your game sharp. Exceptional course. Castle Hayne is the PREMIER DGC in SE North Carolina. If you're visiting Wilmington you'd be doing yourself a favor by checking it out.

Great and fun course. Awesome day in the woods on a challenging course. It is a shame all of the topsoil has been carried away and left all of those roots...!
Cursed ROOTS!!!!

I haven’t played a lot of course’s but this is a great one. Wish it had more elevation but it is a good all round course.

Great course overall. Very well maintained, options for nine or eighteen holes. Great lines to basket through woods. There are some holes here you won't find at other courses. Course plays all of the par 61. Risk-reward shots on every hole, with a variety of backhand, sidearm, thumbers, you name it. The only reason for the A- is the carpet pad redesign of holes 4 and 5 which get pretty slippery. Good practice basket as well, great course to play doubles on as well.

No course map. Locals do a lot of hard work. A lot of trees. I did get a sense of deja vu on a few holes. Some real signature par 4 holes. Off the fairway can be brutal. Thumbs up! This course will go up to A status in a few months. It is being remodeled currently from 18 to 21 baskets. And a road was put in with little to no consideration for the course.

Locals were awesome I. Helping me through the course ,really good placement , really fun holes. I'm from Michigan and if I'm ever in the area again I would play again. Worth the 2 hours I drove to throw here

The best course I've seen in the eastern part of NC. I live in Texas now and miss these trees!

I dont see how this is the #2 course in NC. This course is tight in woods with terrible bugs, very tight lanes in alot of trees and goes along a park w/ some walking between baskets w/o any throwing. Not the best use of the park imo. Only 1 basket on every tee but they have multiple locations so you dont know which 1 to throw at if you havent placed before you'll need to walk out and find it and thats a challenge on some shots as they are over 400ft on alot of shots and none of them are straight ...

Tough as nails. Bring every shot in your bag and then some. Rewards you when you stay in the narrow fairways, but not always do you have a perfect line on the 2nd/3rd shot. Greens are getting sand which helps keep them close when you miss. Best course Ive ever played.

This is a challenging wooded course that really requires a variety of different shots in order to score well. Hitting your line off your Teepad is rewarded with straightforward approach shots and putt. Missing your line or hitting an early tree can easily lead to bogeys, doubles, and the dreaded triple bogey. The front 9 is difficult to score on and requires players to hit their landing zones with precision, especially the signature par 5 hole 8. The back 9 is slightly longer and slightly mor ...

One of the toughest disc golf courses in NC. If you are looking for a challenge then this is the course for you. Great tee pads from the long positions. Short pads need to either be a bit longer or lower so that you can run up onto them. Winding creek through parts of the course will swallow a disc in a heart beat but most of the locals will call if they ever fish one out. Great tee signs and love having the benches on each hole. Make sure you pick up your feet while walking though so that your not going to trip on the many roots in the fairways.

The shorts layout offers a nice variety of holes with fair but tight lines around a creek. The course is wooded and flat, moderately technical and is well maintained with hole signs, cement pads (short on shorts), benches, trash cans and a restroom. Navigation however, can be challenging due to numerous fairway roots and limited directional next hole signs. The shorts probably should be closer to a par 54.

Great course, nice facilities, very well maintained, really challenging short and long shots. The only drawback was all the roots! My ankles were pretty sore at the end.(maybe fill in those areas with mulch or sand would help)Other then that, it’s was really fun even with a little bushwhacking!
