"The Sammy" at Madison County Recreation Department in Danielsville, Georgia is a 18-hole free-to-play public beginner/intermediate course that is deceptively challenging, while being still manageable by newer players.
Course contains wide variety of wide open field shots, lightly & heavily wooded holes, steep up hills, sweeping down hills, over multiple creeks, and with a few OB zones. As "The Sammy" is in the county-maintained Recreation Department, it has great public restrooms, snacks, drinking fountains, and playgrounds throughout the course (and even a splash pad for kids, open in the summer). It is moderately disc-cart friendly (although hole #10 will challenge that a bit), but it is not wheelchair accessible beyond holes #1-3. Equipped with maintained gravel tee boxes, Innova DISCatcher Pro baskets (installed on dedicated raised pedestals), and clear, high-quality, color hole signage with smaller white signs to point you to the next hole. Total distance walking is 3.04 miles, with elevation gain and loss of about 220 feet.
Be very cautious for people on holes #12 & 13, and on holes #14 & #15 for cars.
