Tuesday Nights are back on... !!!!

Hudson work day Saturday June 28

We will be having a work day on Saturday June 28 to pour some concrete sleeves on the current back nine, and if we have enough volunteers we will work on a couple of the new nine holes as well.

Scheduled work is from 10am to 2pm with FREE PIZZA for all volunteers, followed by a round of golf.

We could use all the help we can get. All tools are need: chainsaws, pruners, shovels, axes and most of all extra hands.

With one solid work day all of the new baskets will be in for next Tuesdays scramble

Basket Install/Scheduled Workday

Hudson Parks and Summit DGA will be installing 18 new Innova Discatcher baskets at Hudson Springs Park in the upcoming days.

Please stay clear of freshly dug holes, new sleeves and wet concrete.

If you haven't heard, Hudson Springs is expanding to 27 holes. Nine new championship level holes will be added to the existing back 9 (trust me they are amazing).

A large workday is scheduled for Saturday 6/28 at 10AM to work on the new holes/baskets. Lunch will be provided by the club with a round afterwards.

New Baskets Install

The park will be digging holes for the new baskets starting next week (6/15). Please stay clear of these holes and please do not remove the pin indicator flags.

As a result, we need help to pour concrete and set the sleeves. We will continue our Thursday weekday workdays but would also like to set up a weekEND workday to complete the project. Which date works best 6/21 or 6/28 @ 10 AM? Please post which is best for you.

Sorry for all the notifications, we just have a lot going on!

Work Day

Another work day is scheduled for today (6/12). Working on the new holes at Hudson Springs (A, I maybe B?). 6pm- Dusk. Bring bug spray and tools.

We will keep everyone posted about the new baskets. Our workdays will soon transition to setting basket sleeves.

Hudson Park Board Meeting

REMINDER: The Hudson Park Board is making their final decision tomorrow 5/19 on our proposed expansion of Hudson Springs Park to 27 DG holes. If you would like to show your support, we will be meeting at Kepner's (downtown Hudson) around 6PM. Board meeting is at town hall at 7:15PM.

Jon D. and I were out at the course today doing a walk through with a couple of the Hudson Park Board Members, one of which is the President of the board. Me, Jon D., Cody D. and Greg P. have been working our tails off to put together a phenomenal design and palatable explanation of our ideas for the Hudson Park Board.

As of now... looks like it is going to happen.

Friend to be Remembered

Hi All, Some stunning news, Our friend and fellow disc golfer Jerry Bland passed away today. He'd suffered a sudden respiratory arrest early Thurs morning and didn't recover. Please keep his wife Jen and their kids Jon & Marilyn in your prayers. No word as of yet regarding a memorial/remembrance service.

Hudson Scramble 10-26-13 cancelled

Club hosted scramble at Hudson Springs will be cancelled again this week.

All of our current club officials will be attending the Haunt at the Hangar at Wingfoot DGC. and no one will be out to run the league.

We will continue Saturday league on Saturday 11-2-13

GOOD NEWS!!!!

All of the fundraising for new baskets is finished and all of the money has been given to the park system. We will be purchasing the pins in three lots of six because of some clerical hurdles.

They majority of our regulars will be attending the Parma open which is also tomorrow.

Old Mach II's are ace magnets

We had another great turnout for our weekly scramble with 30 players showing up to toss off on the Hudson Springs DGC.
Once again I had the pleasure of being witness to yet another league ace as Ryan Keats put down a blind ace on the 350ft. hole 11. I was right around the corner on 12's tee when I heard the tickle tickle of chains in the back ground, and all it took was a quick glance to send my happy a$$ into an airplane to let him know he just hit it. Oh what an ace. congratulations old boy!

Happy day to our good friend

Ruby locks... Eric "Sharky" Boyd told the ominous clouds to the northeast to shove it, as he slammed an ace with class on hole four at Hudson today. I had the pleasure of witnessing an ace with more action than a Kardashian, swooping left toward o.b. than breaking right like a bat out of hell just to to slam back left like Alex North right into the honey pot. CASH BABY!!!! $294 worth of the stinky limburger.

FROZEN FINGER FAIRWAY TOUR RESULTS.

Great job to all who participated throughout the series. We had a blast watching you enjoy the winter golf season.

!!!!!! Together WE raised a grand total of $3721.00 !!!!!!

Beating last year’s total by almost $1200.

Bridge to be built this spring.

Hudson Springs DGC will be recieving a pedestrian bridge on hole 12 this spring. A local eagle scout has already obtained full funding and has plans to open the bridge for use this year.

more news to come. to those of you who appreciate the help of the local eagle scout, we will plan some sort of opening ceremony to express our gratitude.

Good times on the links

I would like to thank everyone who came out to a nice sized scramble on our brand new pads at Hudson Springs DGC. Not only was it a special week because of the pads, it was also our 100th week of scrambles from our clubs inception. We had 33 players from almost every local course: Euclid, Canton, Portage Lakes, Punderson, Parma, Medina and of course Hudson locals were all representing and supporting our community involvement in the expansion of our beloved sport. Hi all. Due to work continuing on the tee pads, the scrambles for this week will be cancelled as well. We are supporting the PLDGA (Portage Lakes) this Tuesday, the 21st at 5:30 for a clinic that will be held by Jay and Des Reading. Please help us support them, and the Reading’s for taking time to host a clinic for our local disc golfers. There will be a scramble following the clinic. We look forward to using the new tee pads next week, 8/28/2012 and hope that you will join us.

Tee pads

6 out of 18 tee pads have been set today. The park will be pouring 6 more on monday, finishing up the project on Wednesday of next week. I will be out on the course this weekend putting in some work to be sure they go in correctly. If any of you players are not attending the PDGA B-tier event Launchin' on the Lakes at the Portage Lakes DGC, and are willing to help out for a little bit this weekend let us know. post in the talk section.

Hudson is getting new Tee Pads.

I had a meeting with the park superindendant today. Here are the minutes:

Summit DGA has $2000.00 to donate to the park system for course improvements.

We will donate the full 2k in one sum with full documentation.

The tee pads are on the top of the list. The nice sized donation coupled with our accumulated volunteer hours, the park system has agreed to do ALL of the work. The project is scheduled for the week of Aug. 6th. The guys plan on excavating tees on monday (8-6) and tuesday (8- ... more

AWSOME NEWS Huh?

The guys at the park system will also be building us a nice message board that will be a modified version of the portage lakes kiosk.
The board should be built and installed before snow falls. Sometime in the fall.

Hines Hill Nine:

The property is in a holding pattern. The city now owns the property but have been running into problems with the city council and planning board. Two of the buildings are historical and it is a large piece of land with no decided use.
The basic finality is that we cannot remove the baskets until the city council has decided a use for the facility. We will get them, but when is the question.

We have permission to put nine more holes on the back side of the rear nine. the super has aggreed to a basket matching program. If we raise the money for 9 he will buy the other nine.

Six months til the next round of charity events, eh? I have really enjoyed these, and I have a bit of a dream, and I think it's a realistic one.

For the 2013 FFFCT, I think we should aim high...perhaps 20 grand high...or more!

My thought: SPONSORSHIPS

I think we should set up a formal letter that competitors could take to their employers and co-workers interested in sponsoring, and perhaps have a get-together to prepare mailers to send to companies throughout NE ohio to ask them for sponsorship.

I'm thinking something kinda creative, like match $x per dollar raised through entries. Say we cap 6 events at 90 golfers. That's 540 golfers. Anyone who pledges even a dime an entry knows that their donation will be capped at $54, and probably expect only half of that. So, say $25 per individual pledge. Now, multiply that by say an average of 2 sponsors per golfer (many will have none, some may have a dozen or so to offset), and you'd be looking at an additional $12,500 for the charity through individual sponsorships alone! And that's before corporate sponsors even enter the equation.

Corporate sponsors we could offer similar pledges, or perhaps 1 to 1 matching, offer them a cap on donation, and offer them a fixed donation. We could also hit them up for food, drinks, prizes, and added cash offerings to allow us to turn these events into full-field events after all. The thing is, we need at least a few of us making even a small effort, and if many jump on board, we could really turn this into front-page Plain Dealer (OK, Cleveland.com) stuff.

Please offer your thoughts here, and for those who can, I'd like to try to give these ideas a little more structure, perhaps early this Sunday in Medina before the tournament, spending 20-30 minutes trying to gauge support and what ideas may/may not work. If the organizers of the 2013 event give their blessing, I'm going to seek sponsors regardless, but I'd like to make this as fulfilling as possible, so please consider your input and participation.

Hudson Spring Fling THIS weekend.

The course is looking fantastic, and is well on it's way to having solid equipment and a good layout. The weather is looking like it should be beautiful for the tournament, so come on out for tuesday scramble at 5:45pm and check out how the course plays.

Course work this weekend

we will be working at hudson springs to put some finishing touches on the course before the tournament on the 26th. we will be roping off some O.B. lines in the back and need some general clean up of downed limbs and weed whacking. hit up jon decapua,frank lyons, or myself if you can help out.

Today saturday april 7th will be the last saturday scramble for the season. We have already begun Tuesday scrambles at 5:30pm. We will shuffle the time back to 6:00 as daylight permits.

Frozen Finger Fairway Event #3

To all of you that are on the fence about the Warren event, whether it be the drive or that you have not ever seen the course. I highly encourage your attendance, Youngs Run DGC is one of the best par 54 courses in NEO. It gives medina a solid run for the money and will make you happy you came. we will be playing two rounds, 1 long to short and 2 short to short.

Frozen Finger Fairway Charity Tour results

We had another fine showing for the Frozen Finger Fairway Tour with 35 players showing up to the blustery fairways of Hudson Springs Park.

I would like to thank Mitch Renwick, Greg Platt, Eric Wernet, Frank Lyons, Chris and Kate Carver, Mel Martin, Jon DeCapua, and Bob Becker for the contributions to the wicked spread of soups,chili, and fixins.

With this great showing we are ahead on attendance from last season and heading strong toward our goal of $2,000.00 plus being donated the the ... more

2012 Frozen Finger Fairway Charity Point Series kicks off with a bang

We as a group have kicked off another wonderful winter point series with a 40 degrees and sunny day of golf. We had a fantastic showing of 46 players that came out to support this 6 stop charity drive for the cleveland food bank. Thank you all for the support of the cause, and i hope to see you at the remainder of the events.

We made alot of progress this year and are looking to get even more done next year. New tee pads will be poured mid to late in the season. The $20 entry fee is split as follows per participant
$2 goes to the Winter Point Series
$9 goes to Charity
$9 goes to Event Payout

Lunch will be provided at each event by the locals... last year we had some pretty awsome spreads. All included in the entry.

The point series is simple. Every time a player participates in an event they should enter the same division. In doing so, they will get a point for themself and a point for every player in their division that they beat. At the end of the series, the top 30% of the point earners for each division will be payed out the money collected.

The final event will be at Sims Park in Euclid. It will be a PDGA Sanctioned Ice Bowl, worth double points for all participants.

Each event will payout to those who participate as well (see above).

The charity will rotate annually in the counties involved. Last year it was the Akron/Canton Regional Food Bank.($2020.75 raised)

This year the Charity will be The Cleveland Food Bank. It is a Four Star Charity with a Rating of 62.61 out of 70. 94.9% of all donations go to assisting the less fortunate with a wide array of services that go way beyond just handing out food. Open your heart and huck plastic for a good cause.

Each event's proceeds will be set aside to be added together with the next... All money raised will be donated at one time at the end of the series.

Last year the every local group put on an awsome spread to help warm up those fingers and the belly. I look forward to seeing what kind of culinary creations are whipped up this year.

!! WINTER DISC GOLF ?!! FROZEN FINGER FAIRWAY CHARITY POINT SERIES

The Frozen Finger Fairway Charity Point Series is in the planning stages. We will be finalizing dates and putting it all together soon. Hopefully we will beat our mark of $2020.75 from last year. The charity for this year will is TBD in Cuyahoga County. We look forward to seeing all of you on the blustery winter fairways of north east ohio.

FOREWAY CHALLENGE RESULTS ARE UP

We would like to send a very special thank you to all of you die hard disc golfers that showed up to the fundraiser. We had 23 players going crazy in the rain, but they all got through it, had some chow and had a good time. We had a few donations from people who couldn't make it which was really nice. Jeremy Kursik donated $40 and Greg Guttinger all the way from Florida donated $20. Which took us to a total of $487 raised to put in some new tee pads at the course.

Your group will have between 11am and 5pm to complete the four rounds of nine holes at your liesure. We will start up the grill around noon and keep it going throughout the day. We will also be running the side games all day.

I had posted on the Tuesday evening scramble talk forum last week that we will be holding a club meeting Sunday Aug. 21st at Hudson Springs DGC at 2pm

Aug. 22nd is the one year anniversary of our club. In the past year we have made a world of progress at the Hudson Springs DGC and a positive influence in the community as a whole. We made some slight alterations on the front nine to increase flow and prepped the front nine tee areas for concrete. We cut five great new holes into the woods on the back nine with over 200 man hours of volunteer work, that greatly increased the variety on the course. We helped coordinate a five course winter charity point series which raised $2020.75 for the Akron Canton Regional Food Bank and developed one of the largest attended weekly scrambles in the area. Not to mention the growth of the earning capability of the club finances.
This can be the tip of the iceberg in the growth of the club.

We are looking for more people to take a leadership role in the club, there is an apparent need to diversify the decision making processes throughout the willing club membership. From now on there will be a monthly meeting in which all grievances and suggestions will be addressed and official decisions will be made. There will no longer be any official decisions made through public forums. Just as with other public service organizations, those who do not attend meetings to propose their ideas or voice their opinions and provide solutions will have the decisions made for them.

This will insure that all persons will have the opportunity to actively participate in the planning and execution of club activities and course improvement.
This will be the first meeting of a new organization, we are no longer a start up. We are moving full steam and need your help to make better things happen in shorter periods of time.

The following is a rough list of what needs to be covered in the meeting:

Establish a board of directors -- This does not mean that every weekend you will have to be doing something for the club, these are the doers." The Red’s of Shawshank."

Finalize our club charter --
Do an update on our finances -- upcoming expenses. i.e. insurance policy
Discuss fund raising opportunities -- i.e. Bag tags, 50/50 tourneys,
Discuss club membership -- perks of membership, different tiers, etc.
Discuss tournament dates --
Discuss course improvements -- Tee pads, Baskets, -- prioritization of funds
Open platform for ideas and suggestions

If you plan on bringing up an idea or suggestion to group, please be prepared. Do your research and put it all together on paper. Bring the financial aspect of the proposal, how much will it cost? what does the club gain? the more info. the better

First scramble on the new design

come one, come all. tomorrow will be the first scramble using the new set of holes.

6pm --- $5 + optional ace fund for $1
there are two ace funds running --- one at $300 and the other is approaching the same

i will be tracking the scores for the next several scrambles to figure out the pars on the new holes. (most likely all par 3)

hudson back nine to be done today

The back nine at Hudson springs will be closed today for renovations.18's basket will be missing until Friday. I will pour concrete today for the new pin and set the sleave. The basket will be up Friday.

NEW COURSE LAYOUT IN TWO WEEKS

To begin, we will be out on the course through out the rest of this week finishing up the mulch around the new holes. If it is not raining i will be out there from 10am to 1pm each day putting some finishing touches around the fairways. If you are not familiar with the new layout, it goes into the woods behind current hole 12 and loops around. so if you just hop on the path beside hole 12's pin you should see us in the general area.

If it is not raining i will be out there from 10am to 1pm each day putting some finishing touches around the fairways. so once again tomarrow we will be doing the mulch from 10am to 1pm. !!ANY AND ALL HELP IS APPRECIATED!!

Also, tomarrow the park service will be out there with a tractor and or front loader moving some of the larger logs we couldn't get out. then by the end of the week, they will finish mowing up the new green across the creek for hole 12, and make us some nice next tee and directional arrow signs that match the rest of the signs on the property.( brown with yellow lettering)

katie ordered the new stickers for the tee signs and will be buying the new practice basket tomarrow.(innova discatcher)

THEN: next week (weather permiting) the park service will begin the swap of the baskets and signs.
i will assume that the swap will take more than one day so IF the back nine is closed, appropriate signage will be posted at the course and i will make sure that we post it on here as well.

NEW BACK NINE LAYOUT IS AS FOLLOWS:

current holes 13,14,15,16,and 18 will be removed.

12's pin will be moved accross the creek bringing the hole to approx. 420ft.

then you walk about 80 ft. north to the tee for new 13 playing a 90 degree dogleg right up a hill approx 280ft (plays like 340)

then you walk about 80ft. east to the tee for new 14 playing a 220ft tunnel shot to a guarded green

then you walk about a 100ft northeast through a sweet walk way to the tee for new 15 playing a 380ft. hyzer through a schute that is just generous enough to reward a well thrown shot.

then you hop on the path heading south east and walk about 150ft to the tee for new 16 playing a 320ft. slight anhyzer toward the lake in a great well maintained grove of trees.

then you walk about 100ft to the tee for new 17 which is old 13 backwards. from the top of the hill in the corner and the basket will be right on top of current 13's tee. approx 450ft downhill anhyzer.

then 17 will be the new 18 with a little tweeking, pulling the pin away from the playground.

*** current 18's pin will be replaced with a practice basket and a putt around serving as a ghost hole or a 19th hole if you want to use it.***

working at hudson springs sunday june 26th -- 10am to 2pm

i just spoke to the park superintendant, he has scheduled the wood chipper to be out on the new holes next wednesday to clear up the piles of schule we have made. this sunday we would like to make a solid push to clean up the edges of the fairways and make the piles as large as possible. the chips will be placed around the fairways and greens to fill in the small low spots.

if you have the ability to come help we would all appreciate it. from my rough calculations the club members from hudson have put in about 150 man hours on these 4 holes. come help us hit 200 hrs

Saturday June 4th Work Day at Hudson Springs

katie and i will be out at hudson on saturday june 4th from 10am to 2pm working on the course.
please help. anything that we can get taken down and cleared out would be great .
hopefully after one more solid four hour session we could set up some temp baskets and play it.
it will be a bit rough but it will be throwable by the end of the session.

we will be having a work day from 10am to 2pm on sunday
every person that puts in at least 2 hours of work will be included in a free scramble, standard format.
the ace fund will be in effect for everyone who helps out.
we will also buy lunch for all who help.

Hudson Scrambles move Back to Tuesdays

SRAMBLES ON TUESDAYS

Jon DeCapua and Mitch Renwick will be helping run Hudson Scrambles through the summer. As of this week on april 19th Hudson scrambles will be Tuesdays at 6 pm.

The Tuesday morning breakfast club will be suspended until july due to course maint.

the back nine redesign is finalized.

katie and i will begin clearing tomorrow at about 11am. all volunteers are welcome and the club will buy pizza for everyone who shows up to help. then we will hold our regular scrambles at 2pm.

The Frozen Fingers on the Fairway Tour comes to an end this Sunday March 13th at our double point PDGA sanctioned event at Sims Park in Euclid. The events at Medina, Hudson, Warren, and Parma have all been a great success. We would like to thank everyone who has helped it get this far along.

The Frozen Fingers on the Fairway Tour comes to an end this Sunday March 13th at our double point PDGA sanctioned event at Sims Park in Euclid. The events at Medina, Hudson, Warren, and Parma have all been a great success. We would like to thank everyone who has helped it get this far along.

Our total amount of money raised so far for the Akron Canton Regional Food Bank is $1478.75. If I could reach you all to pat you on the back I would, you crazy disc golfers will huck Frisbee for anything. Your generosity is not unnoticed.

Our ultimate goal for the series has been $2000.00, and by my calculations we only need 58 players to come out and participate in order to hit that mark. The weather has been wet and unforgiving but we may luck out and get a big freeze to make the conditions a little less sloppy. We hope to see everyone who has participated so far, along with as many new faces as possible. It will be good fun for a good cause.

We have put together a charity winter point series that will benefit the Akron/Canton food bank.

Event #1 Medina -- Sunday Jan. 16th unsanctioned
Event #2 Hudson -- Sunday Jan. 30th unsanctioned
Event #3 Warren -- Sunday Feb. 13th unsanctioned
Event #4 Parma -- Sunday Feb. 27th unsanctioned
Event #5 Euclid -- Sunday Mar. 13th SANCTIONED (double points)

$ 20 entry fee for each event. $2 from each fee is taken for the point series. The remainder is split 50/50 for the charity/payout

OPEN -- Am1 -- Am2 -- Women

All events will be on a strict time schedule to accommodate 2 full rounds, lunch, and payout in the short daylight hours.
9am to 9:40am will be registration
10am tee off
2pm second round (at latest)
Payout when finished

Each player will receive one point for themselves and one point for each person in their division that they beat. All points will be added from each event played, and top point earners for each division will receive additional payout at the final event.

We will only be collecting canned food at the final event in Euclid, to benefit the Euclid food bank.


Since the first four events are unsanctioned I don’t see a problem with anyone using ribbon assist with shot retrieval
At the final sanctioned event, ribbon will be prohibited

Pre-registration is Not required and these events are open to everyone.

But cashless pre-registration is available at www.discgolfscene.com go to the tournament section, find the event you wish to play and post your name/division in the talk forum of the event. We will manually put you in.
Doing this will make the check in/ registration move much easier in the cold.

There are only 4 divisions available because of the reduced attendance. Most players will be playing up a division. Such as Ian Kuen who will be playing open at medina, he is a top level Am and medina is his home course. This should be expected. So all of you Rec. players out there, don’t be deterred, come on out anyways. You should have all of the same guys in your division that you normally play against.

Summit DGA will be holding the December Bag tag challenge/monthly mixer on new years day at 2pm.
the format will be the same as all of the others

the $20 entry fee is split as follows per participant

the point series is simple. every time a player participates in an event he should enter the same division. doing so, he will get a point for himself and a point for every player in his division that he beats. at the end, the top %30 of the field for each division will be payed out the money collected.
the final event will be at sims park in euclid. it will be a PDGA Sanctioned Ice Bowl, worth DOUBLE POINTS for all participants.

each event will payout to those who participate. just as with the pdga...
pros = cash... ams = merchandise

the charity will rotate annually. this year it is the akron food bank.
each events proceeds will be set aside to be added together with the next... all money raised will be donated at one time at the end of the series.

all events have been posted in the tournament section of this site.
it is highly encouraged that all who can... participate. this is for a good cause.
and if you play through the winter you'll be beating all your homies in the spring.

The representatives of Summit DGA would like to request volunteer help for next weekend... November the13th and 14th.
On Friday the 12th the park maintenance crew will be pulling up some of the old tee pads, how many we get pulled will be based on the amount of volunteer commitment we have. We will pull the pads and rope them off on Friday. Then the club will be responsible for finishing them off on Saturday and Sunday. We should have plenty of tools for the tee pad arrangement ... more

October meeting

the october bag tag challenge went well. 17 players. thank you all for coming out, it looked fun. ( i wish i could play)
the next bag tag challenge will be saturday november 27th. same bat time, same bat channel.

the meeting also went well with about 13 people attending ( thank you guys for putting in the time)
a full financial report was furnished as well as our current club charter.
the financial report can be looked at upon request by any club member, but will not be sent out for every ... more

there will be full transparency at all times. open book policy.
the club charter is available upon request in digital format. if you would like a copy just send a message .

we put up a vote on what the majority would like to do with the tee pads for the short term. just until we get the money to pour new ones.

option A --- leave them alone for now
option B --- tear them out and put down a wood chip mixture with kick boards
option C --- leave them alone and do one at a time as we get the money

the majority vote says option B

i spoke to the superintendant today, the park will pull the pads out within the next 2 to 4 weeks. our club will be responsible for preping the new tee areas. then the park will bring in a nice sand/gravel mixture and lay down and base for drainage under the pad. all that being done, we will top off each pad with a fill dirt/ wood chip mixture. then rinse and repeat for 18 holes. any tees that will not be used in the future will be filled in and grass planted.

it has also been pointed out that we can use the winter to fix up the current tee signs... that is in process, more to come later.
if any one has any questions, comments or concerns feel free to ask.

no question is too small. everything will be considered.


also. there was a meeting on saturday between hudson and portage lakes. things seemed to go well, and i believe we can achieve many great things together. as of now there has been no official action taken, but some great offers have been extended and hopefully we all decide to band together as one. it would be great to combine our resources to promote and expand the game.

here is the schedule, do to the lack of daylight and many people having tight schedules for halloween we will be doing everything we can to get out of there by 5:30 or so. doing this will be a test of discipline. here is the schedule.

Great News

We will be having our first club meeting after the BAG TAG CHALLENGE ON OCT. 30TH. If you need specifics for the event, they are posted on this site.

We have adopted a charter and finalized alot of paper work, now the fun starts.

We have recently obtained approval to expand the course behind the current back nine. the area of expansion is actually larger than the current back nine. So that is in process, and fair game at the meeting.

Good News

I would like everyone to welcome Dustin Farrell as your newest officer in the Summit DGA. He will be filling a position of Director at large for the time being. Dustin should always be current on the activities and ongoing plans of the club. So you will be able to direct questions to him as well as katie and me. So if you all would, go ahead and give dustin a pat on the back for donating his time and effort to making disc golf great in the north east ohio area.

NOTICE TO ALL --- saturday october 16th

NOTICE TO ALL

due to a Catholic Youth Organization event on the 16th the park will be shut down until NOON. they are having a cross country meet that is supposed to be huge. according to the superintendant they should have the area set up with police escorts and the whole enchilada. although this does not interfere with our scheduled start time, it may interupt some of your warm ups.

issues with averages

hey everyone,

we had some issues with the averages at hudson springs.we just posted the total score for the turnpike challenge rather than each individual round, which caused a glitch in the averages. i deleted those rounds out of the bag tag page to fix that problem but it shuffled some of the tags around. please check the leaderboard for the bag tag league and contact us if there is an issue. we will do our best to get it all corrected.

I'D LIKE TO WELCOME EVERYONE TO THE 2ND DAY OF FALL. THERE HAVE BEEN ALOT OF GOOD THINGS HAPPENING OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS. WE HAVE MADE WONDERFUL HEAD WAY WITH THE HUDSON PARKS SYSTEM AND HAVE GOTTEN APPROVAL FOR MOST OF THE IDEAS BROUGHT UP BY YOU GUYS AND GALS, AS WELL AS CONCERNS THAT SOME NON MEMBERS HAVE RAISED. WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL PEOPLE COME US AND ASK HOW THEY CAN HELP, THIS SHALL BE THE OFFICIAL CALL. THROUGHOUT THIS WINTER WE WOULD LIKE TO HOLD THE SNOWMAN POINT SERIES. THIS WILL BE A SERIES OF UNSANCTIONED EVENTS ( EACH WILL HAVE PAYOUTS) WHICH WILL EARN EACH PARTICIPANT POINTS, AT THE END OF THE SERIES THE TOP POINT EARNERS WILL RECIEVE MORE PAYOUT. as far as i could tell the event ran smoothly... although slightly unorganized. over time every event will get better. katie and i would like to thank everyone that came out to support the cause, and extend a special thanks to all of those who lent a helping hand. THANK YOU.
it was good to see the fellers and womens from canton, massillon, portage lakes, warren and euclid showing up to support our course. we SHOULD and WILL do the same for them.

the scrambles are 10am and 6pm on tuesdays. there A and B pool designations based on your scores. if you can break par (54) you are an A player. then A players are paired with B players Randomly.
it is $5 and a optional $1 ace pool. $1 out of the five goes to the club the rest of the money gets payed out to 30% of the field. the more players there are, the more places get paid.
the morning averages about 10 players

Scrambles

Scrambles are every Tuesday. Free for now until park approval for exchange of money. It will be singles unless we have enough people show to play doubles. 10AM breakfast club and 6 PM every Tuesday.

money exchange

the word around the camp fire is true. hudson parks dept. has an issue with the exchange of money on premises. we are scheduled to attend the next meeting on june 21st. meanwhile i will be arranging a meeting with the city manager to hopefully fix the issue.
