2021 A-Tier Announced

The 2021 Professional Disc Golf Association A-Tier schedule was just released! And what do we see? Why that's the 3rd Annual Cherryland Disc Golf Festival and Tournament!
That's right! September A-tier in the Willamette Valley!

Our Festival started as a local C-Tier many years ago. Slowly but steadily it has been getting bigger and better! We are honored, in 2021, to bring a National Amateur Disc Golf Tour A-Tier to our region!

Our Festival started as a local C-Tier many years ago. Slowly but steadily it has been getting bigger and better! We are honored, in 2021, to bring a National Amateur Disc Golf Tour A-Tier to our region!

While this is an Amateur A-Tier there will be a Professional B-Tier ran right along with it!

The tentative plan is Keizer Rapids Park and Wheatland DGC at Willamette Mission State Park Saturday and 27-Hole Camp Taloali Disc Golfers Layout Sunday! *subject to change

Did you watch the American Disc Golf Tour LIVE on ESPN3 this morning?If not here is a link to the replay! While it could use a little work on the presentation it was nice to see Disc Golf on a national stage like this!

Woodmansee #4/13 and #5/14 Moved For the Month of April

***PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT***

During a recent walk-through of the Park with City of Salem Park Department Officials the erosion of the hill on holes #4/13 and #5/14 was noticed and raised concerned in the Parks Department.
After further discussion with the Park Department, and in partnership with Willamette Valley Chain Gang DGC and Capital City's Woodmansee Groundskeeper Stacey W, the baskets for holes #4/13 and #5/14 will be removed from their current locations starting April 6th ... more

***PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT***

During a recent walk-through of the Park with City of Salem Park Department Officials the erosion of the hill on holes #4/13 and #5/14 was noticed and raised concerned in the Parks Department.
After further discussion with the Park Department, and in partnership with Willamette Valley Chain Gang DGC and Capital City's Woodmansee Groundskeeper Stacey W, the baskets for holes #4/13 and #5/14 will be removed from their current locations starting April 6th.
The current plan is to place them in the "B" locations for holes #1/10 and #2/11. Signs will be posted that instruct players to throw TWO drives from #1's tee pad, one for the "A" location and one for the "B" location, and to hole-out both drives to each location. The same instructions would also be posted at the tee pads for holes #2, #10, #11 thereby making up the four missing holes while still keeping the course a full 18. After playing the original hole #3 and #12 players will be directed down the path to the right to the tees pads for holes #6 and #15.
While the baskets for holes #4/13 and #5/14 are moved players are asked, and signs will be posted, to stay out of that area as much as possible to allow for the restoration of the hillside. At the end of April another walk-through is scheduled with the Parks Department. The better the hillside looks the better chance we have to get the baskets moved back faster!

Remove Ivy Work Party @ Woodmansee 3/5 9am

FYI.. TOMORROW 3/5/16
The Salem No Ivy Coalition will be out at Woodmansee Park this Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm to work on ivy removal and native plantings along the creek. Due to the area where volunteers will be performing work, holes 1/10 & 2/11 will be temporarily closed on Saturday, 3/5 until 1 pm. Signs posting the closure will be in place at the park as well. The Salem No Ivy Coalition will be working all over the park, but mostly removing ground ivy North of Pringle Creek.

Come join us and The No-Ivy Coalition clean up Woodmansee Park!

Lucky Huck Tournament

Sean and I had the pleasure (or pain) of playing Camp Taloali today!
54 holes in total!
It was a pretty well run tournament put on by Locals Route!
