doc, great point. I'll wait to hear back from Dave Taylor. SHDGC doesn't necessarily mean we're confined to Harford County. Hopefully everyone agrees this is a great opportunity for all parties, including disc golfers in MD, PA, and DE.

Nov. 1 is the Ravens bye week if they can wait that long. If not as long as it's not during the game, I'd want to go up. I think this would be great for the club. It's not Harford county, but close enough. :p

forgot to mention that Mr. Dave Taylor asked if we could do Saturdays. I explained that my Saturdays are shot for another few weeks, but I told him that there were plenty of us and I didn't need to be there. So Saturdays are an option if that works best for the group.

All,

I spoke with Mr. Dave Taylor (he called me). He read my email and could sense my excitement (shoot I think the dead can sense my excitement). He's flying solo on this project!! Here's the skinny:

1. Proposed 9-hole course at the Rising Sun Veterans Park, a little bit shorter than the Hills. Includes elevation changes, a creek, only one blind shot from the tee, 250-300 foot holes, envisions par 3s. One potential set back, not sure about a playground, may want to redesig ... more

HELL YEAH LEMLY!!! i can't find the orignal post, but I'll email him. I think rather than paying for a pro, if the town is willing to donate, the entire club can roll up there and display the various shots. Lemster gets my vote for the forehand roller group :)) Keep me away from the putters.

FROM THE MD BOARD
"flickinator » Wed Oct 13, 2010 10:28 am

We're a step closer to a course in Rising Sun. I made a brief presentation in front of the mayor and council last evening and there seems to be strong willingness to move forward.
I'd like to meet with one of the course designers from Scarboro. I believe that this course is almost "shovel ready," in the sense that it will require little , if any , modification. One of the commissioners wants to ... more

If you are planning on attending the first club meeting on Oct. 7 please fill this form out. Registration will go a lot smoother and also, we can get a rough head count. Thanks. Your information will be kept private. Only Club board members will have access. This is not a commitment to join, just an "I'm interested" form.

community involvement = making HC the DG county. we're looking to get involved and involve more people.

great news about the Rec Council. Time to woo the other Rec Council presidents now, get the course at Churchville Rec, and get more new players involved. Once you hook some older people, you're in like Flynn.... :)

Great to hear Dave. I was curious how the meeting had went but sounds like you had them eating out of your hands by nights end. Let's start passing the word and push this club and make Harford THE discgolf county

A few of us met with the Churchville Rec Council Board Members last night. It went fantastic. We introduced ourselves and gave a little presentation of what disc golf is. By the end of the night we had them wanting to come out and play and asking us if we wanted to put baskets in at Churchville Rec. On Oct. 7 we will be having our first club meeting at the the Churchville Rec Center. The meeting will double as registration night. You do not have to be a member to attend this meeting. Please feel ... more

Fellow Golfers,

we met with Churchville Rec today and were given a green light for the club. We are going to meet with the Churchville Rec Council Board Members on September 22d and we scheduled our first club meeting for October 7th at 6:30 PM at the Churchville Rec Center. If you know someone interested in joining the club, tell them to attend the meeting. The meeting will double as registration night. First year fees = $25.00. More info to follow.

I lost John's 167 bright orange sidewinder on 16. It faded right then kicked off a tree and went over to the left side of the fairway (looking up the hill). i searched up and down the freggin hill in the woods for an hr and couldn't find it. if you find it, give it back to john. how the F do you lose a bright orange disc in the sun...?
