Is the Thursday night doubles league open to anybody who shows up? I'd like to make it out if schedule allows, but have no idea what to expect (never played in any sort of organized league or event before).

All tees and signs are in (Matt already had that covered). The downed tree on 18 was removed. Steps were added leading to the 18 basket. More of the swamp on 15 was cleared. As to what next: 1) the rest of the swamp on 15 near basket needs to be cleared, 2) the left side of 15 before it goes up the ridge should be cleared more and the brush moved further to the left 3) the tee area on 11 needs to have poison ivy and brush removed 4) weeds wacked everywhere.

I apologize for not showing up this morning along with the rest of you. Worked hard all night and until 8:30 am, by the time I got home to get ready to do it all over again up at the lakes my body was telling me to go to bed. And at my age you should listen to your body. Can you review what was done and whats needs to be done. Maybe I can get up there tomorrow for a little while.

Props to all who made this course what it is. With time, this course will mature to be the best course in n.e.ohio. The views, pin placements, and over all play, of the back 9 ,can't be touched by any course in this area.

Steve, Ya think the club should purchase a lawn mower, since the state park department seems to have forgotten us?

I have a good portable basket. I'm able to help out this week, but next week I'll be studying for finals. After that it's summer for me and should be able to help out again almost every weekend.

first off, Thank you to everyone who included my Mom in your prayers. We're very moved by your thoughtfullness. She's doing better. The hospital released her today and I took her back to her nursing home.

don't know if I'll make it tomorrow, it's still pretty crazy.

Can't wait to see what you guys have done since I've been gone. #14 should ans will be a birdie hole and most of the players will need that birdie because it's going to be a tough DGC w ... more

Weather permitting, clearing is scheduled at the Portage Lakes Disc Golf Course from 8:30 to 12:00 on Saturday, 4/23. We will be working behind hole 14, clearing brush to the 15th tee. Clearing is also needed on the 16th fairway and the path between 15 and 16. Again, weather permitting, I will be there tomorrow morning also. Dan, prayers for your mother.

No worries Dan, we got a lot done on hole 14 in the couple of hours we put in before the rain got too heavy. See you next time

I'm sorry I couldn't make it today, My Mom was admitted to a hospital late last evening and my focus is with her at this time. Hope you had some decent weather in which you got something done. I asked a friend who has a portable basket of mine to return it so next week we can put it in different positions a get a feel of where we want certain baskets (if needed).

I talked with Bill a couple of days ago and hole # 15 position is going to be so scary it might be the scariest basket position know to mankind, well maybe not that scary but it will have players thinking................. and # 14 will be just as sick. I'll try my best to be there Saturday morning. and since we're only getting a few volenteers helping each weekend. I was wondering if whomever reads this and knows they can't come out and help. could you please say a prayer for decent weather so the few volenteers can get something done.

I will be at the course working most of the day tomorrow and from 8:30 till noon on Saturday if anyone wants to work or just take a tour of the back 9. These are going to be some great holes and will have baskets soon but much help is still needed.

Weather permitting (less than a steady rain), clearing is scheduled at the Portage Lakes Disc Golf Course from 8:30 to 12:00 on Saturday, 4/16. We will be working on hole 14, clearing brush off both sides of the ridge leading to the (soon to be) basket. Time and talent permitting, clearing is also needed on the 16th fairway and the path between 15 and 16.

when your pleading, are you pleading to the STATE of OHIO too? because we really need their help as much as we need help from individuals.

wouldn't it be uplifting if the State park dept. showed up with a bobcat this saturday?? I'd rather see them there than a foot long sub from subway.
