MDGO Michigan Disc Golf Org.

I typically don't like to rattle chains (pun intended) about things like this but I think this is an issue worth mentioning. I submitted the Shore Acres Disc Golf Club's 2015 schedule to our State Representative back in December. I typically don't like to rattle chains (pun intended) about things like this but I think this is an issue worth mentioning. I submitted the Shore Acres Disc Golf Club's 2015 schedule to our State Representative back in December. We're now over halfway through March and our events have yet to be posted on the state schedule on MDGO.org. I imagine that the majority of Michigan golfers get their schedule from here on disc golf scene but I have to imagine the MDGO.org is where some people go to get the "official" tournament schedule.
If this was the only issue I've ever had in dealing with the MDGO, I wouldn't think twice and easily forgive the forgetfulness. Unfortunately, this is one of many issues that I've observed in the past several years.
I think the part that bothers me is that the MDGO seems to pride themselves on strict governance and are quick to pass sanctions on to clubs for infractions. But in situations like this, among others, there doesn't seem to be any consequences for our state disc golf governing body. I guess I'm tired of the double standards and I'm likely not the only one. Is there a system in place for clubs/individuals to file a grievance against the MDGO? If so, what course of action is in place to hold board members accountable?
I realize that the MDGO consists of volunteers and I appreciate the majority of your actions and efforts. There are a ton of great things you do for the game here in the state and I applaud that. With that being said, I think that the bar could be raised and we could observe a higher level of professionalism and conduct out of our governing body.

Just a heads up the coupon code for affiliate club discount code for 2015 (15MDGOAFF) says it has reached the maximum number of redemptions and won't give you the discount.

The MDGO.org domain says it has expired as of yesterday. Is the disc golf scene going to replace that? Also is there a $5 discount for being part of the MDGO when we renew our membership?

Great planning and execution in Ludington last week. From my vantage point - the "B-Tier" does not convey the high status designation the event deserves. While there may be some cashe' with a two-day, 7 course, 440 player B tier event, there is probably some other criteria that keeps the event at "B". I've done a few A-tiers but did not get curious about the official distinctions until I was "rocked" by the A++ experience I had at State's. Should I consult the PDGA manual etc., or have a talk with my knowlegable friends in Grand Rapids?
Adam Geise August 26, 2013 at 9:57am
If you are going to be in Ludington and are available any time between 5:15 and 9AM Wednesday we are doing a live taping of "Michigan This Morning" for 9&10 news and Fox 32. We need people to throw some holes, maybe talk about disc golf in an interview, putting...Contact me ASAP [email redacted]

Should the Disc Golf World Champion be crowned by points and not just a single tournament? Titles are almost always crowned using a single tournament.

Here is some clarity on the 2013 USADGC. There will soon be a list of official Qualifiers published on the USADGC website. Most PDGA Amateur singles events sanctioned B-tier and above between the dates of May 25, 2012 and May 19, 2013 are USADGC qualifiers.
The top 15 percent of Advanced Am finishers at many B-tiers are qualified to compete at USADGC 2013.
The top 20 percent of Advanced Am finishers at most A-tiers are qualified to compete at USADGC 2013.
All info subject to change. We anticipate ending the historical "week of qualifying" option in 2013. More details to come.
The list of 80 Qualifiers is being expanded by a few and we have targeted the March 4th week for the update. Thank you.

Sign Our Online Petition!
Sign our online petition to show your support for the renovation of Knollwood and the creation of brand new courses in Kalamazoo. Signatures from golfers living anywhere will be appreciated as it will show the City Commission that interest in disc golf extends far beyond the golfers in Kalamazoo alone.
This petition will be shown to the Kalamazoo City Commission at the end of the year and will hopefully lead toward a much bigger professional and amateur disc golf culture in the city!

Dont forget Aug 24 is the deadline to register for the State Championship. After that date your berth will no longer be honored. Remind your friends.

It looks like I will be heading there on Sunday. I've been talking with the DNR rep, Joe Hall for a while now. I've also been to the Park before, it will be a fantastic property for a course.
Derek Straayer July 31, 2012 at 10:20am
Attention MDGO members: our up state brethren are in need of some experienced disc golfers to critique/play their course design before committing to tee pads. The park is east of Gaylord and camping is being offered to those who help. I would do it myself, but between Bertha Brock, Ionia State Rec and my busy life, I don't have the time. They have 9 holes laid out with a plan to expand to 72! Please let me know if your able to help and I'll put you in contact with those who are reaching out for our help.
