That makes a bunch of sense Scott, thanks for the rapid reply. I was a spectator during the latest Tourny, watching a few of the holes and I was shocked to see so many holes actually inter-graded into the flow of the park. Having a few holes new the children play area was bad planning IMHO, but I know there isn't a bunch of room. Hopefully things can be squared up come mid-November. Thanks again Scott ;)

Mike, the Picnic Course is seasonal. It is a privilege to even have the holes that are in right now. There have been issues between disc golfers on the Picnic and park users that have no knowledge of our sport. The area used for the picnic course is not disc golf course land, it is multi-use land. The park is forced to keep the nortside closed until there is a very small chance of conflict. The current date for this is mid-November. It was almost pulled for good last year after a number of conflicts.

Does anyone know when/if they will be putting up Holes 1-8 & Holes 17-18 at the Picnic Course (Independence Lake)? Kind of lame they took all the holes down after the Tourny and just left 8 holes :/

my favorite is the Boneyard at independence lake due to the abundance of vertebrae out there.........
but The Memorial at Independence Lake has a nice ring to it!

The park is approved for concrete on the Chuck D which is scheduled to go in this spring. We are looking at a temporary solution like the fly pads which could also be used on the picnic course down the road. Thanks for the feedback on the quaboings, Peter.

I played on the quaboings at the Vibram this year. They're pretty cool, but concrete is better of course! :-) Better than fly pads, not not nearly as portable / removable. You just roll up flypads. To make teepads with quaboings, you have to glue several 2' x 2' squares together. The glue is permanent, and if you need to move the teepads, you'd have some big, heavy monolithic slabs to deal with.

The park has already installed some of the recycled tire stuff at the playground by holes 7, 17, 18 on the picnic course. It would be great for tee pads. I suggested it to Brian a while back. Unfortunately that stuff is really expensive.

saw that they used this stuff for some of the teepads at the Vibram open in the fall issue of Disc Golfer......maybe we could see if they are feasible/affordable for chuck d? website doesn't show teepads per say just info about the materials.....
