Anybody up for getting some practice at Ft. Riley Moon Lake? I think it'd help change things up and get us more mentally ready for courses we'll see at tournaments. Don't know about anybody else, but I'd like a refresher at a course I don't get to play very often.
I'm free today after 1:30 if anybody wanted to go. If not, I think it'd still be a nice team practice round sometime.

Mitchell Brenn   October 10, 2013 at 11:54am

I'm down.

Student Status

In order to be eligible to play in the NCDGC and in NCDGC Qualifier events, students must be enrolled in at least six credit hours at the time of the tournament at the institution they wish to compete for. Students enrolled in three credit hours at the time of the tournament can also be eligible if they have taken twelve total credit hours in the last year.

So all I need is one online class boys ;)

The tournament is posted. Go check it out! Also, if you are on Reddit, go upvote this beast to keep it towards the top of the Reddit page!

I**Indian Hills Update**

Left Manhattan about 11am on Friday and drove about 6 hours to Indian Hills IA. We got into town at about 5:30pm and went straight to Indian Hills Community College to play a round. Got a good feel for it there, then ate at a bar and grill called Uncle Bucks, and then went to the hotel.

Saturday morning we get to Memorial Park at about 7:30am and warmed up until the players meeeting at 8:30. It rained for about t20 mins during the players meeting and that was it! ... more

Good luck & keep up the good work. Way to "represent" with such a good performance!

Josh Carroll   October 5, 2013 at 11:41pm

Way to tear it up at Indian Hills! (in Ottumwa, IA by the way :P) Looking forward to hearing about the singles rounds tomorrow!

Travis Bailey    October 5, 2013 at 6:04pm

I know that Jacob and myself are gonna walk Aggieville later today (around 4pm) to beg for sponsorships. We'd love for people to come help. If you do, wear a disc golf/K-State related shirt and plenty of copies of the letter.
If you want to go along, post in the groupme so that we can plan accordingly.

ALSO, I may start delivering some of the phone books tomorrow evening. It's the only night I'm completely free.

Josh Carroll    October 4, 2013 at 11:35pm

We currently have 1,240 telephone books in our possession to distribute over the course of the next few days. The group rate for delivering these books is $0.25 per book so we're looking at a potential earning of $310. Be sure to keep Monday and Tuesday nights available for a couple of hours to get ALL of these books delivered.

Big thanks to Jacob Patchen who helped me check out the routes and load up books at the warehouse and getting them unloaded and to David Moreno who helped unload books for part of the time.

Tryout round results have been updated through today. Final results should be up tomorrow evening. Here are the standings so far: http://www.discgolfscene.com/media/197794_g.jpg

Travis Bailey    September 27, 2013 at 1:24am

Fundraising opportunity! It gets us $100-$200 for a night or two of work. Even less if a lot of people get involved.
Delivering phone books in the Manhattan area is the job, and it's really easy. (I did it for multiple years in high school)

Some rules:

Travis Bailey   September 26, 2013 at 5:25pm

The actual delivery dates would be Monday, October 7 through October 9. If you are free to help please do. It will save a lot of time!

Josh Carroll   September 26, 2013 at 10:08pm

Let's get on this! I may be able to attend this meeting, but it'd be nice to have a second representative.

Travis Bailey   September 27, 2013 at 11:41am

Yeah, we HAVE to have someone or the routes will be gone. Like I said, I'll be working but if anyone can go and take some notes on proper delivery methods and times, then get us a route or two it would be awesome.

Josh Carroll    September 26, 2013 at 10:17pm

Don't forget that sponsorships are necessary if we are going to send a team to Iowa (and any other tournaments thereafter). Pair up with a buddy and ask around. The link to the sponsorship documents can be found under the 2013-14 Sponsorship Campaign (Fundraising) news post.

Travis Bailey    September 21, 2013 at 5:07am

Jeff! You were looking for a teebird? They're on sale this week here:

Tim Nispel    September 20, 2013 at 8:56am

Alright guys, we need to do something like this!

Mitchell Brenn   September 20, 2013 at 1:34am

Hell yeah

Josh Carroll   September 20, 2013 at 10:25am

I was thinking something more like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-UW8luxy08

Travis Bailey    September 19, 2013 at 7:44pm

Is there a way to see current standings from qualifier rounds?

Josh Carroll   September 19, 2013 at 11:59am

Here's the most recent standings. The composite scores in bold are completed averages (at least one round at each course) - http://www.discgolfscene.com/media/197146_g.jpg

Josh Carroll    September 17, 2013 at 3:24am

The broadcast crew that recorded our last Friday practice is looking for a couple of us to show up on Wednesday, September 18 for the live newscast to provide some last-minute footage. If anybody is available from 9:30-11am or so on Wednesday, please comment below. Thanks!

Chase Flanders   September 16, 2013 at 7:44pm

I can probably do it

Troy Pike    September 12, 2013 at 7:38am

Hey is anyone planning on playing the Mighty Shunga in Topeka September 21-22?

Josh Carroll    September 11, 2013 at 8:47pm

I have not yet posted any news about the Tryout Round process, but is anybody free to get in one of their official rounds tonight? Any time, any course is good for me.

Josh Carroll   September 11, 2013 at 5:01pm

Sounds like the plan is Warner at 6:00pm for anybody else that wants to tag along.

Troy Pike   September 11, 2013 at 6:03pm

I didnt make the meeting but will come on out to try the course and meet and talk

Josh Carroll   September 11, 2013 at 6:12pm

Sounds good Troy. If you've never been out to Warner before, it's a fun little "9-hole Challenge" that offers the best landscape of all the Manhattan courses.

Chase Flanders    September 7, 2013 at 12:14am

Hey could I get a ride to practice tonight? That'd be great.

Chase Flanders   September 6, 2013 at 4:15pm

My address is 1015 Denison

Josh Carroll   September 6, 2013 at 5:21pm

I can swing by and pick you up. I'll be heading out soon. Shoot me a text, 620-899-4739

Josh Carroll   September 6, 2013 at 9:29pm

Would have been easier to get a hold of you if you had included your phone number in the original post. But since I didn't have your phone number until the text you sent at 5:17, it was already too late since most of us were already out at the course. We'll get something worked out next time if you still need a ride.

Josh Carroll    September 5, 2013 at 7:13pm

Just a reminder, the Disc Golf Club meeting is tonight, September 5th, in Hale Library 301A (third floor) from 6:30-7:30pm.

Mitchell Brenn    August 31, 2013 at 9:09pm

Just a reminder, 1st practice will be at 5:30 pm at Fairmont park. If you have a portable disc golf backet, please bring it.

^ This. Definitely this.

Josh Carroll   August 31, 2013 at 2:54pm

Portable baskets to go on the football fields in order to not interrupt the flow of casual players making their rounds through the course. If for some reason the fields are also in use, I'm sure we'll be able to adapt.

Rick Petrie   August 31, 2013 at 8:00pm

Thanks guys. The Riley County Parks division has been great to work with on course expansion, so we (disc golfers) need to do our best to share the park with other type users.

Ian Waters    August 31, 2013 at 5:22am

When will practice be tomorrow?

Mitchell Brenn   August 30, 2013 at 9:29pm

5:30 pm at fairmont park
