If anyone has pictures from our 2016 LCM Ice Bowl, I would greatly appreciate having them. Also, with your permission, I would like to send the pictures to the Ice Bowl headquarters along with our report. BTW...All registered players signed a waiver granting their permission to publish photos of them from the Ice Bowl...

Yes, I took a few of the players meeting. I'll try to remember to send them to you... remind me tomorrow (if I forget).

Kevin RevKev Clark   March 7, 2016 at 2:55pm

Hi Rick, did you have a chance to find those Ice Bowl pictures yet?

LCM Ice Bowl and KDGA

I still need to clarify some things with Smitty, but it looks like there will be KDGA points offered for playing in the LCM Ice Bowl...

I have not seen anything until today about a CICO Park course, can anyone tell me if there is one there?

I think there is an object course but I have never seen the map

Astro - Michael Shanks   January 14, 2016 at 1:42pm

Yes old object course. Would like to see one there in the future.

NOAH M   January 14, 2016 at 5:22pm

Thanks, here is the link I found it on and all it was is a map with hole discription, http://www.smithzone.com/flyingdisk/cico.htm

2016 LCM Ice Bowl Disc Selection:

Hey everyone, the LCM Ice Bowl will be on Saturday, Feb 27th, 2016 at Fairmont.

Because we are ordering pre-printed discs, we are able to order multiple models from multiple companies. For this reason, I am giving you the opportunity to express your disc preference prior to placing our disc order. I will not guarantee you will get the disc you want, but your odds will go WAY up if you respond to this message with your preference from the list below.

Hello All,

As the hours wind down for people to file to be on the 2016 DFOK Officers position ballot, I decided to post an "Open Letter" regarding the topic.

I have enjoyed my time as the acting/interim President of the Disc Fanatics of Kansas. I am also looking forward to passing the torch to someone else, which I believe is long overdue.

Defining Official DFOK officer positions, then filling those positions has been discussed for a long, long time. Writing club By-Laws & ... more

This could be the last winter before disc golf takes its first step into the mainstream. There's been a couple of ESPN ace highlights in the past year. The sports network sees it as a novel, quirky highlight opportunity to keep viewers' attention, and the interest of the broader publicly may have been collectively piqued? In 2016 the mainstream sports fans will be able to take a closer look. There will be 3 new pro-tours debuting next year with strong financial backing, including a wor ... more

FYI, I just received word that County/City crews are at Fairmont today doing some tree maintenance work.
They will do their best to not adversely effect the fairways, but first & foremost their responsibility is to make the park safe for all users...
I'm as eager to see their work as anyone. I doubt anything dramatic changes will occur though.
Stay tuned for future opportunities (this fall/winter) to have them address any specicic issues we (disc golfers) identify.

On hole 4, they cut one of the main trees across the road, making the gap easier to hit.

Rick Petrie   November 4, 2015 at 8:39pm

Thank AJ, any other trees of note? They've got a tough job of leaving dead stuff as long as then can, without falling over on top of us. I know they want to take out the dead tree in the middle of the gap/fence on #9... but they're watching it...

Thanks for posting a link to this. I read the entire thing. Do you happen to have contact info for the "Joshua Wilcox at Kansas State" that you quoted in the article?

Question regarding the pin placements for the FHO:
1. Who is available to meet at Fairmont Park on Wednesday evening to decide the pin placements to be used at the FHO? We could also put them in the "morning round placements".
If we tackled this on Wednesday evening, (a) we would not have to do any basket maneuvering later in the week, and (b) we could get a couple days of practice on that specific layout.

Side Note: Also, please consider helping mark the O.B. lines on Friday evening.

Thanks,
Rick
