Im strongly against the hole idea of alterating shots for dubs if there is going to be a dubs friday night just have regular dubs rules.

Jon, That's a cool idea & it might just lour me into playing... (but I plan to set out, unless we end up with odd number of players)

While we're on the topic of new twists for this one time doubles event... someone told me about a CTP twist that may lour even more people in. I'll let "him" provide the details though.

Here's a thought: how about we play doubles by alternating shots, straight up, instead of best shot? It would be more tournament-like pressure and less strain on the arm.

Just thought I'd throw that out there. If people don't like the idea, I'm fine with doing it the usual way, but it might be interesting to mix it up sometime.

I'll bring our DFOK club Scorepoint board & scorecards to help organize this thing (even if I don't play).

We'll be sure to do this Friday dubs up right!

Good luck at the Litte Apple Open DFOKers! I am heart-broken that I can't be there this year.

Hey DFOKers,
Even though DD is not doing doubles Friday night, I know there are people that are going to be out there Friday night getting ready for the tournament. Some of you will want to practice in solitude, others will want the pressure of the competition. If it fits into your plan please meet me at the picnic table by hole 18 at 6:00. http://kansasdiscgolf.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=4228

From the KDGA site:
"Dynamic Discs will not be having Flex Doubles on Friday afternoon. We will be around in the evening with the new RV and gear. Get signed up if you have not already done so and we will see you Saturday morning.

I'm going to be out there anyhow. Anyone interested in doing a BYOP or random doubles around 6:00? Or do you want to rest up for Saturday?

I may be up for either option -- party afterwards and/or camping. Does anyone know how much it costs for a campsite?

I have been thinking of camping on Saturday night too. BTW, cabins are all booked pretty much all summer.

I've always thought the shelter behind tee pad #11 or beside #14 look like good places to have a small DG cookout. Any other ideas on where to have this? (I'm assuming the cabins are already booked & who wants to be inside anyway?)

Also, we'll want to makes sure people know it's nothing official or tied to the tournament. In otherwords, bring your own food & drink.

We wouldn't want to create any confusion or misconceptions. :-)

Sounds good Daisuke, I'm thinking about bringing a tent and staying over. I might bring glow sticks just in case we want to throw some glow holes.

The map is pretty good, but it's over 10 years old and doesn't have all the basket positions that were restored last weekend. It also doesn't reflect the cabin construction on #16. It would be nice to have an updated map.

I'm not sure how clean it is but there has been a map on discgolfkansas.com for quite a while.

Are there any new pin placements? I think the answer is technically, No.

However some of these placements have been out of service long enough that they may be "new" placements for some people.

Personally, I remember all of them but I couldn't tell you how long they went unusable... some seem like they've been out of commission for quite a while. But exactly how long? I don't know.

Regarding a map. Glad you mentioned that. It's probably time we created a clean new modern internet friendly course map.

So does Tuttle have new basket positions or just repaired old positions? Anyone have a map if so?

I had one person at the CCC ask me how they could join DFOK and get one of those shirts.
