I think I lost my white destroyer at Warner this week. Not sure if it has my name on it but it is a pre Avery destroyer weighing 175 grams. I will pay a finders fee! Thanks!

anyone?

Rick Petrie    March 14, 2014 at 11:10pm

Please allow me to provide some insight to everyone.
As discussed in our DFOK Meetings time & time again (in addition to other topics) DFOK is trying to establish a consistent & clear theme of what is "DFOK News" (on the News tab), plus what is the DFOK club officially helping host or promote?

This is an ongoing topic that unfortunately has LCM caught in the middle of. But rest assured, LCM is in no way the focus.

Everyone should feel free to use the "Talk" tab ... more

DFOK is becoming increasingly difficult to deal with, and I am not sure that I will have any permission to share information about upcoming LCM tournaments on DFOK's discgolfscene page. So please encourage all discgolfers you know of who may be interested in participating in "Break The Chains" or any other upcoming LCM tournaments to please join the LCM club on Discgolfscene so that I can share information about upcoming tournaments.

Just to be clear... DFOK is NOT in any way affiliated with the Break The Chains tournament.

Break the Chains registration is now open at: KSULCM.ORG. The first 60 players to register and pay will receive a custom stamped tournament disc. Open players may choose to pay for the tourney only or to pay for the tourney and a player's pack for an extra fee.

Sign up soon! Let's see if we can break our record registration from the 2014 Ice Bowl!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to remind you that the 4th Annual "Break The Chains" Disc Golf Tournament is coming up on Saturday, April 12th. The registration page is glitching out right now, but it will be up and running soon. I will re-post when online registration is ready. In the meantime, you can check out the flyer at KSULCM.ORG. We have decided for the first time at an LCM tournament to offer cash prizes for the Open division, so this should be an added incentive for you to try playing OPEN.

Riley County commissioner, Dave Lewis, thanked DFOK again yesterday on KMAN Radio.

Good find Rick. I know a bunch of DFOKers donated a lot of time and $ on this. It's nice to get some love on the radio.

Rick Petrie   March 12, 2014 at 11:49pm

Thanks. Plus, good publicity like this should help our chances of expanding Warner Park & other cool projects in the future. (at least in theory)

Rick Petrie    March 13, 2014 at 12:18am

I received a message in my discgolfscene.com inbox a few days ago about a tournament.
I know nothing about it, but thought I should pass along the info.

I don't know for sure where this weather station is located... I agree that the winds at Tuttle could have been even stronger than in the NOAA reports.

Lost Disc: Red star destroyer a couple feet into the water right next to the basket on hole #13. I'm going out tomorrow or Thursday, but posting just in case someone grabs it because I'm not sure if my name is on it.

Lost Disc: White Destroyer on Fairway #17 at Tuttle, along the bank of the creek...
Fairly short because it got slammed down by the wind.
It was pretty dark out by then so I'm not sure if it went in the water or not.

Who are you again?

Rick Petrie    March 9, 2014 at 6:32pm

Anybody interested in my "used" disc golf cart/stroller? I can arrange a test drive if needed.
http://www.discgolfscene.com/trading_post/18098/disc-golf-push-cart

If it doesn't sell locally, I plan to take it to the DU Open on March 29th... where I'll make sure to sell it.

Thanks!

By the way, the Bag Tag part just keep rolling with the same tags... there's no change in that, other than it will take place at Warner along with the Points League change in venue.

Rick Petrie    March 9, 2014 at 9:34am

DON'T FORGET TO CHANGE YOUR CLOCKS AND "spring forward" tonight... you wouldn't want to miss the start of the Sunday League event by one hour!

I believe I'm behind on congratulating three people for recent Aces.. so here goes. Nice work Austin, Alan & Adam... apparently the "A Team", in more ways than one.

Hey everyone! If you haven't already heard, the K-State disc golf team earned a bid for the 2014 National Collegiate Disc Golf Championships held in April. In order to finance the tournament expenses, the club has arranged to order fundraiser t-shirts. You may reserve a t-shirt now by making a contribution of $15. T-shirts will only be guaranteed to those that reserve a shirt prior to placing the order. Thanks!

Here is your chance to have some input on our 2014 "Break the Chains" tournament discs. I will be placing the order tomorrow... Friday, March 7th. We are ordering Innova discs this year, but can also order Discmania discs. We will only be able to order 3 or 4 models because of quantity requirements. So, let me know what Innova or Discmania discs you would like to see. Let me know in the next 24 hours....
