So since we are now sold out I want to ask everyone's opinion. Last year we had 88 players and played 20 holes followed by a final 10. It was talked about allowing 80 people, 40 teams, playing 18 as you normally would from the long or shorts. Then we would go do a final 18 with everyone playing shorts. I would appreciate everyone's feedback on this. We would put ghost groups on the longer holes and make sure people tee off as soon as they are out of range.

We were out working on the course tonight. Shaping up a little...
No official scorecard at the stand and the only means of getting any idea of where we were supposed to be shooting, being looking up each hole on the phone here on DiscGolfScene made it sort of difficult.
copy this and print it out before you go next time. http://www.discgolfscene.com/coursepictures/56563_l.jpg

Just a heads up looks there is room for 11 teams to still sign up. If I were you I would already go ahead and pay now or risk not getting in day of. Cashless pre reg will not save you a spot. This is just a friendly reminder.
i think buckles should have to be have to be 40 to qualify for playing masters, even if john is an old man, i dont think thats fair...lol

Registration is now open for this event. When you sign up, just add a note what your team name will be and I will add that. I don't think PayPal let's you register a team.
This year two rounds of 18 will be played, there will be NO ghost groups for a maximum of 36 teams, 72 players. We are doing this to make sure we finish before it gets dark. This event will fill up. You can always pay in person or mail a check as well.
When I say PayPal doesn't let you register a team, I mean one person signs the team up.
Does cashless pre-reg save a spot or is it only paid entries?
Cashless does not guarantee you a spot, although your more then welcome to pre reg on here. I opened up on line registration to those that want to utilize it.
I think it's a great idea! And if so how do I pre reg to get a spot?
I think we are going to expand I just wanted to get opinions. Once it expands I will re open registration so others can sign up.
Do you think you will have enough daylight for that??
I would have to agree with it. 18 playing accordingly and then 18 shorts would at least cut down on the time played and get us done before dark.
Sunset is slated for around 6:30 pm, so yeah it might actually cause an issue with it. Depending on how long the lunch break is and getting started back up, its hard to know if we would get done with ample light. Tack that on with the rain forecast with wind, it will probably be a longer round than normal.
Mark and Tim that is the biggest issue I was contemplating about. Even as is and having everyone play shorts the second round is going to be a stretch. Last year we played only 10 the seconds round and just finished before dark with 88 players.
we would be playing, in total, 4 less holes with 8 less players...
I would not add 2 more holes! Leave it at the 72 cap. And the shorts is propbably an all around better course out there. And some teams will still finish in the dark I bet.
Jeff, adding two holes is out of the question. It would be allowing 8 teams, 16 people, to register. In doing that I think daylight would be a major concern. As is now I think we could even play the second round long/shorts. Since the only teams playing longs second round would be Open and Advanced.
I also agree with your comment Jeff about the shorts being an all around better course.
Ok, it has been decided. 80 players 18 followed by a final 9.
Daylight is always an issue with this doubles tourney. It is a time consuming course to begin with so any extra time puts darkness closer. Second, if we get delayed in the morning like in the past because of frost it throws everything up in the air with time. I would rather have 2 guaranteed rounds of 18 then a possibility of a shortened 2nd round because of light.
So we just lost 9 holes of play?
I agree with Brent here. It was stated before anyone paid and registered that field was capped at 72 and it was 2 rounds of 18.
I understand that it was state caped at 72 and 36 holes would be played. If anyone would like a refund due to the changes I can arrange that for you. Please let me know.
After much deliberation and seeing what others wanted we are going to go ahead and play two rounds of 18. Impersonally did not want to expand to 80 players either. A refund is always available since what is offered was changed. I'm just hoping by adding the 16 people won't delay things.
Id stick to 72 then. Some people cannot play a tourney at Sunnybrook in less that 4 hrs...even w golf carts! we have 10 hrs of daylight.
its 8 players. from 72 to 80.
i think its too late for that.
Nothing I can do now. I was told to make it 80, and I did. We already have to teams signed up, I could refund their money and make them hate me or just cap it at what it is now only allowing those two extra teams.
* thats 4 hrs per round.
cap it now.
Herzog just reg'd so 78 it is.
Jeff I agree with you 100% I wanted it kept at 72. People know this sells out.
So it's capped? 2 more players wouldn't do anything to affect the day...
saw that coming.
Maybe it's just me, but it was already made clear that it was to be capped at 80 and now it's not. I couldn't get in because my partner told me just a little while ago that he had to work now, so I went ahead and found someone else and now I'm screwed. It just doesn't make sense.
chris when you say" nothing I can do now I was told to change it" I thought you were the TD.If you only wanted 72 like stated then why isnt there just 72?
I have a strong feeling jeff bauman is not gonna have any last min changes at stone cold same course same time of year come on out!
Darren, your right I am the TD and after talking with John we think having 80 people is going to be just fine. Daylight is going to be a concern that is for sure.
hopefully it all works out for you guys.
Thank you Darren! I also highly suggests everyone play Stone Cold as well. Jeff is a standup indivisible and runs impressive tournaments. I do feel bad for jerking everyone around this morning.
*individual.
i think youre a standup indivisible chris.
Awww thanks Shaun. Darn auto correct.
never it to be misunderstood we appriciate you standing up and helping out.
I think Chris Leo is a sit down guy who for sure cannot be divided (and continue to live).
just asked myself...and looks like...yes! I am indivisilbe!
its anchorman not anchorlady and that's a scientific fact! oh sorry wrong thread.
Hahahaha, That is funny. I remember a Stone Cold Jeff was the TD for back in like the early days when it was too cold out and he stayed home in bed. I ran the event that day and kept it going using Jeff's same format for many years after that. I think Nitz would concur here. They say the memory is one of the first things to go...
