Disc golf singles tournament
About this tournament
Prodigy player pack discs!
SpAce Race 2013! round 7 is an ace run tournament held at Horning's Hideout Highlands course. All courses at Horning's will be open for play on the day of the tournament, including the Highlands course.
For an ace run you throw from the tee trying to make a hole in one with no further throws to complete the hole. 2 rounds played consecutively, 3 throws from the tee per hole per player.
Bring your own discs to throw, with holes ranging from 100 feet to 250 feet. Holes #5 and #6 have alternate shorter tee pads, making the longest throw around 220 feet if you wish to play those pads. Double points for scoring from the regular #5 and #6 tee pads.
There are two divisions, an open and a women's with separate winners and pay outs.
Round 7 features a bonus round at 8 am. Show up shortly before 8 and we'll get groups together and send you out as soon as possible. Cost for the bonus round is 12$ with 100% double ace pot, series & scrip payout.
The next round begins with the usual 12-12:45 PM registration/warm-up, 12:45 PM Constellation and SpAce Invader CTP throw offs, 1 PM player meeting, 1:15 PM tee off. 20$ buy in includes the player pack disc,1$ for the Double Ace pot, 5% for the series final winners, with the rest going to cash payouts. Cash only, pay at event. 72 players max for the event (18 groups of 4).
We'll be bringing in pizza to eat between noon and 1. I'll set up a form later where you can request to be part of the 5$ lunch.
Scoring will be 5 points for an ace, 2 points for metal.
Play with your own group of up to 4 players . Registered groups smaller than 4 players and individuals will be assigned to foursomes.
Horning's Hideout has a 4$ per person day use fee. You can also buy prorated annual passes, which are a great value. Horning's has three great eighteen hole courses, so you can always spend the rest of the afternoon playing the other courses after the event.
Round 7 will feature a player's pack choice of any of the leftover player pack discs I've accumulated throughout the year, so your main choices will be from the Lat64 family of recycled discs and the Prodigy discs we had last round. I may also order another box of Lat64 family misprints to add to the selection. As usual there will be Muffin Buckets, plus the spaced out scoring system unique to the SpAce Race!
In round 7: SpAce Debris, any aces made with your player pack disc instantly wins you another disc! It is not required to throw the player pack disc on any or every hole. The morning bonus round will not be a player pack disc round, and there will be no disc you designate to try and win another disc with.

Pay day of event, cash only.
SpAce Race 2013! consists of 8 monthly ace run tournaments held at Horning's Hideout Highlands course. The Highlands course is great for ace runs as most holes are less than 200 feet.
There will be an overall series winner for the individual with the highest point total counting their 6 best rounds (allowing for two missed events or throw out your worst two scores if you've attended all 8 rounds). Top 10 series finishers will also receive prizes according to their 6 max best scores. 5% of each round's prize pool is saved for the series' winners.
Feel free to attend just one or as many rounds of SpAce Race 2013! as you wish.
Beginning in round 4 we've had two divisions: Open and Women's. Women are free to play in either division. The women's division has shorter temporary tees on most of the longer holes.
Top 3 point-scorers in each division get the highest payouts, and after that there are payout tiers for the SpAce Cadet Cashers. The number of cashers and tiers is dependent on the number of entries.
Constellation and Space Invader scoring earns you throws for closest to the pin throw offs prior to the following SpAce Race round. Only full shots thrown in an attempt to make an ace count toward Constellation and Space Invader points.
As mentioned before, you can instantly win another disc if you ace with your player pack disc.
On half of the holes there will be a 5 gallon bucket on top of the basket. If you knock the bucket off with your disc you win a drink and a large muffin! Bucket hits of any kind also count as a metal hit of 2 points for scoring.
The Double Ace pot is won when 2+ aces are made by a group on the same hole, both rounds of 18 included. If only one group hits the Double Ace pot once in a series round, 10% of the pot will go to each non-acing member of the group, with the rest divided evenly among the acers or to the individual who alone made 2+ aces. If the Double Ace pot is not won in a monthly round it will carry over to the next monthly round. If there are no Double Ace pot winners in the final round, the pot will be divided equally according to aces in the final round. less

So, this next SpAce Race being the big double rounder, I wanted to bring in pizza for lunch a little after 12. I figure if we can get 18 other people to commit to 5$ pizza and drink lunch (that'll get you a quarter of a large, good pizza from Papa's Pizza) that it will be worth doing.
If you want in, leave the names of the people in for lunch as a comment. Thanks!

This is the one you've been waiting for -- the big double rounder! One 8 am round, another 1 pm round. RSVPizza lunch in between. It is not required to play both rounds, just one is fine. Also -- I had to go with the 12th instead of the 19th because of tournament overlap. I know some have team golf on the 12th. For those that can't make the 12th or the final round in November when I post it, if we can get 10+ people committed, I'd do an incognito "show up and SpAce Race" round that would not ... more

For those that can't make the 12th or the final round in November when I post it, if we can get 10+ people committed, I'd do an incognito "show up and SpAce Race" round that would not be listed as a tournament anywhere. It might be getting a bit complicated, but I want to give everyone the chance to get a good number of rounds in for leader board jockeying.
