Disc golf doubles tournament
About this tournament
THIS EVENT IS CASHLESS PRE-REG ONLY, AND WILL BE CAPPED AT 52 PLAYERS.
Entry fee is $15. $10 goes to payout and $5 goes to food. I'll be grilling up some good eatins for lunch. I'm making a bunch of my signature blend burgers with all the fixins, and we'll have brats, dogs, and veggie burgers for those that are not down with meat. Food all depends on pre-reg numbers. If it looks good, we'll have slaw, potato salad and other good picnic sides. Dude Sweet Nice.
Bring $5 extra if you want beer. I'm planning on getting a barrel or 2, depending on pre-reg numbers. When pre-reging, let me know if you want beer or not. Hopefully we can cart one out onto the course around #13 or something. Sweet.
Registration will close at 10am. We should be teeing off at 10:15. I anticipate a 3 hour round, a 90 min lunch break, and another 90 min final 9. Giving time for a 6some or other shenanigans, everyone should be paid out and leaving before 5pm.
We're not going to use the exact 101 payout table. Top 30% should be paid out. I should have a rough estimate posted after I see the prereg numbers. This is gonna be some serious fun. I did this same format at Toboggan in 2007 and turnout was awesome, we had 50 people.
Post up on the talk section with your name and PDGA #, and indicate if you want beer or are a vegetarian. Sign up for Open if you are on the pro side or Advanced if you want to be on the Am side.
Please help me spread the word. More people = better food and more beer. HELL YEA!!! less

no, not really. i can post them as singles right now just to get results up, but i'd rather wait and do it right.

so what im hearing is pete is to blame. ****ing slackers.
Daemon Stahlin June 9, 2009 at 10:25am
yes, as soon as doubles tournament score posting capability is up. if it takes much longer i'm just going to post them as a singles tournament where partners will be ties for 1st, 3rd, 5th, etc.

Man, I needed rest from lack of sleep, sun exposure, beer consumption, being old (relatively), smoking, etc.
Jim Daniels May 27, 2009 at 11:51am
if we do singles, we should do 1 round from the shorts so you big-arms can get a little rest.
Jim Daniels May 27, 2009 at 11:49am
thanks, despite missing out on the cash, i had a really good time and had great people in my group for both rounds.
John Davis May 27, 2009 at 10:53am
Thanks, Mr. Dazzler. Nice shooting on the final 13, by the way!

6 teams at -4 threw off for CTP to Hole 1 from short tee for the last 2 cash spots. Anslie Newman/Steve Hudok and Nik Beats/Melissa Wiseman were the teams that were closest to the pin. My team was a "close but you get nothing 3rd" -- maybe a yard from cashing. The 2 cashing teams split the $80 evenly.
John Davis May 27, 2009 at 10:45am
What were the scores of the teams that threw off on hole 1?
Daemon Stahlin May 27, 2009 at 10:42am
agreed, always a dilemma.
i'm going to pick a good weekend coming up in the next month or so and do another round of grillin and kegs. we'll play singles this time.

pro/pro team won...or to be precise am1/am1 team won....not sure what dan grady' rating is but he can definitely throw.....always a dilemma to decide who to flip to pro side....not surprising that a stacked team won!
Grant Anderson May 27, 2009 at 9:45am
did stevo hudok and anslie n. take last cash on the throwoff on hole 1? i think but not positive
Daemon Stahlin May 27, 2009 at 9:39am
i am not able to post dubs tournament scores. if i could, they'd be up by now. i'm going to talk with pete later today about that. winning team was grant anderson/dan grady at -12 for the day and they took home $200. not sure who got last cash, i'd have to check the cards.
John Davis May 27, 2009 at 9:13am
Who won? What score was last cash? I had to split before everyone was in.

thanks to everyone who helped out- glane at registration, abee and rooster with scoring, mark, melissa and brandon for grilling, mark ellis for volunteering for the cali spot, charlie, bee and detroit beer co for the kegs, ian drukis for the scoreboard, everyone who brought grills. without everyone who chipped in and helped out, this never would have happened. thanks.
