Ok, the park said it was a no go, they just dont have the equipment to travel the course or manpower to get months of snowfall caught up for us by sunday which is understandable and atleast the effort was made to solve the problem, however i did discuss with him about in the future having the park possibly leave us buckets of salt and shovels at each tee pad in the fall so we ourselves will have the means to keep them clean ourselves and not have to drag a shovel and 50lb bag of salt around the ... more

firefighters doesn't deserve this event. too big of caliber.

Jacob Turner    March 3 at 10:23am

So if it moves to ff I want to pre reg but if it stays at stony I can't play. (Schedule conflict because I know stony would take longer to play)

Either way youre gonna be there allll day, if its moved to ff that means a fully packed course with backups on almost every hole still from people searching for discs....you better take the day off...lol

Jay B INSANITY DGC    March 3 at 9:07am

I just put in a friendly phone call to the park maintenance office(steve) and explained our dilema and how many people would be attending the event and that we have had people out there trying to get them cleared, he said he would talk it over and call me back, its not very likely they will do anything for us but i figured it wouldnt hurt to call and ask nicely, i left him my number so hopefully he will call me back soon with good news

Jeff Bauman and I were there for a while today. We got to hole 2 short and spent an hour on it. We were halfway to clearing the pad but got nowhere close to getting through the ice for the small patch we found. I would say we have 2 options. 1) Play Stony as is, everyone playing shorts, 2 minute rul ... more

Probably heading out to Stony in the morning if I don't have any animal problems in the morning. May try to clear off some pads before BOBIS at Firefighters at 1.

Brandon"RedRum" Redmond   March 3 at 2:31am

untrue Mike. That is the case only for the Open and age/gender divisions. If some AM2s and 3s wanted in last year they had to play in the Open or AM1 fields as the AM2 and AM3 fields were full. We had 96 players filling the fields for the Amateur divisions. The open divisions had 61 players total an ... more

John Minicuci   February 28 at 6:33pm

All that said, Berths are getting harder to come by...

Mark Stephens   February 28 at 8:19pm

The days are past of just showing up the day before the event are over for many divisions.

Becky Carlisle    February 24 at 8:17pm

So I wanted to play women's advanced but there wasn't an option. Will I be able to switch if you open it up?

I'm going to keep it as Advanced women for now, once more women sign up we can go from there.

John Minicuci   March 3 at 4:26pm

Becky, could you play two rounds there on Sunday for a tournament?

Becky Carlisle   March 3 at 10:16pm

Stony? Sure, I just had to pace myself on Saturday

Steve "Skooba" Wilmoth    February 22 at 1:23pm

Hows the course looking? Teepads and snow wise ect......

John Minicuci   February 28 at 6:35am

Right now we are concerned but will be working the next 2 weekends at trying to make sure the 18 tee pads are clear. We cannot account if more snow keeps falling. Nice winter so far, right?

Mark Stephens   February 28 at 9:03am

Every TD in the state is concerned with the state of their courses...

Yes people did get turned away, they added 2 holes and there were still too many people, i know this because i was on of lucky ones to get in

Nate Buban   February 21 at 10:31am

Lets just hope some of the snow melts, I was out there the other day and it was rough. I'd guess 5 hour+ rounds. Maybe the park can do something for us, seeing as we pay to play there!

Ben Bobowski   February 21 at 7:23pm

Well I'm hopeful for sure. Yeah but what could stoney do? Take out some heater fans? Lol I'm hoping the snow will melt

Zak Longo    February 16 at 3:02pm

Hopefully the snow will be diminished by the 9th, it's pretty brutal out there. Should be a fun tournament though, hopefully I can make it. Is this tournament expected to fill up?

John Minicuci   February 28 at 6:37am

It has diminshed a little but knowing there was a lot to begin with, there's still some pretty deep spots. A little melting everyday is helping but more keeps falling, ugh! Yes, we expect a full field.

Joshua M Barnett    February 12 at 4:20pm

whats the player pack?

Chris Leo   February 13 at 1:15pm

I believe this is a Discraft event, so I would assume something in Z plastic.
