I don't know what happened to my first comment and have not cashed in open, but every time I've placed in Advanced Women with MCCG I've walked away feeling well taken care of. Especially since I've played tournaments for other groups and have received 1/4 of the pay with same division sizes multiple times. Just saying thank you John and Chris for all your hard work and everyone else associated with the club!

Just a friendly reminder that registration closes Saturday at 12:00 EST.

Sarah DeMar    July 24, 2013 at 5:24pm

Chris / Motor City chain gang, could you please state your position regarding women?are we subject to the add cash? If so at what percentage? And if there's three will you be paying one or two?

it just occurred to me why some may be confused over my concern the payouts, so i will clarify: In last years Motor City Open women represented 23% of the field. With $500 added cash and the lower entry fee variable of 18% (44 is 82% of $54) a women-neutral allocation of ac would have been $94. t ... more

John Minicuci   July 28, 2013 at 2:54am

Chris Leo    July 24, 2013 at 6:05am

We are eliminating holes 15 and 16, so after you finish 14 you will walk over to 17 and continue play.

Shrimp Boat Captain    July 23, 2013 at 10:37pm

so 22 holes if its being capped at 88 people in the tournament right?

Chris Leo   July 23, 2013 at 2:50pm

20 with two ghost groups. We are eliminating some of the holes.

Shrimp Boat Captain   July 23, 2013 at 7:36pm

why put ghost holes when you have open non used holes. it makes play slow anf choppy. just saying from experience.

Chris Leo   July 23, 2013 at 9:45pm

After I posted that, I was thinking the exact same thing. We may just do that thank you for brining it up.

dane holmberg    July 23, 2013 at 9:25pm

Is the course going to get closed for the tourney?

Chris Leo   July 23, 2013 at 2:46pm

Yes Addison Oaks will be closed for casual play.

The Gale Vaughn Memorial will be moved from River Bends and Stony Creek to be exclusively held at Addison Oaks. Meaning both rounds will be held there. It is being moved due to the flooding that has taken over River Bends that is hindering us from completing the course in time and allowing the park to cut the grass. River Bends still needs work to be done before it is completely ready for play, work has been done and is nearing completion.

If you already pre-registered and would like a refun ... more

IDK I feel last year having the change between the courses is what made me like this tournament so much ... more

Jeff Bauman   July 23, 2013 at 8:51am

Your right Doug. A tourney at Addy and Stony would be awesome!

John Minicuci   July 23, 2013 at 4:36pm

Maybe the March Mudfest might just be THAT tournament!

Michael Lee Cook    July 22, 2013 at 10:50pm

so its one round? or two?

Chris Leo   July 22, 2013 at 3:10pm

Still two.

Michael Lee Cook   July 23, 2013 at 8:43am

thank you Chris

John Minicuci    July 22, 2013 at 8:16pm

To everyone involved, we may need to change tournament locations due to the conditions at River Bends. The Clinton River overflowed during last weekend's storms. While this is a huge issue for us, please know that many people are still without power and our friends at the park department at Shelby Township are doing everything in and out of their standard everyday work assignments to help us...

Stony is still an option but a few things have to be done on their end as well. I will know what they say tomorrow as well...

I heard BEVERLY was in the running?!

John Minicuci   July 22, 2013 at 11:50pm

The parking at Beverly may be a small issue...

John Minicuci   July 22, 2013 at 11:02am

Different course?

Joe 'Blaze' Meldrum   July 22, 2013 at 11:40am

Lol got ya

John Minicuci    July 22, 2013 at 6:34am

If the grass at Bends gets cut this week, these are the playable holes with tee pads and baskets: Holes 1 - 5, the new hole 8 (reversed 23 to 22's basket, the new #9 to the top near the horseshoe pits through the woods from old 22's fairway, the new hole 10, the new hole 13 (old short 8), the new hole 14, old holes 10 - 14, the old holes 19 - 21. That's if the grass can get cut...

We need a nice guy disc golfer that owns a landscape company to step up and be willing to volunteer for some occasional maintenance when needed...

Douglas "Fresh" Watson   July 22, 2013 at 4:42pm

Buy some goats. They're cheaper on gas and you can sell them for meat afterwards. They might climb on the baskets, though.

Joe 'Blaze' Meldrum    July 20, 2013 at 8:07pm

Just wanted to check back to see if layout and pads for divisions were determined yet. I hoping to get some practice in next week and would like to know. Thanks.

John Minicuci   July 20, 2013 at 8:10pm

Joe, I wish I could give you better news but the course was pretty wet today. A mower was not going to make it through so we will re-evaluate early next week.

Joe 'Blaze' Meldrum   July 21, 2013 at 10:38am

Ok thanks for the update John.

Are there any berths for this event

John Minicuci   July 20, 2013 at 9:30am

Not at this tournament. The MCCG's Featured Event, The Motor City Open, will have berths for State Finals.
