wow.i cashed in the open division.that WAS a while ago.great field.
John Minicuci July 27 at 7:49am
The casuals at Stony will be redirected to the 9 hole layout for the day. At least as best we can. This was cleared by the Metroparks. OU is also allowing us to keep the course to ourselves from 8 am to 5 pm. This should help keep the pace moving along. The longest drive from atop the hill will be for the Open, AM1, and AM2 fields. We will be throwing the longest drives using Hole 1 as there is a soccer camp this weekend using the fields.

so SWEET!!
John Minicuci July 27 at 12:47am
Nice field back then. Get a load of what divisions some of these guys played in like DJ and Geoff Bennett! Ziggy was still a junior and Kora was in AM3. Good stuff...
John Minicuci July 27 at 12:42am
BTW D, since you are reflecting on past posts, might I add in a reflection back to your 2003 Inaugural GVM win!:

@ Ed, yes, back to the regularly scheduled Tournament discussion. We are keeping the long pads as we had them last year for the AM1 and Open divisions. The AM2 and AM Masters divisions will play the course as is except we added the intermediate tee pad on the dirt for Hole 1. The Junior, AM3, AM4, and AM Women will play the short tee pads. We have added long tee pads for the Pro and AM1 divisions on holes 1 and 4. The Intermediate tee pad on hole 1 for the AM2 and AM Masters as stated above, and ... more

You are correct Enoch. Damon has always run the Doubles on Saturday before the Series events. I remember the 1st GVM Doubles because I made the flyer and made the Gale bust doubled, it was pretty cool. Damon will be running the doubles at OU on Saturday. I guess if the GVM becomes an A Tier next year it will be the first time a doubles won't happen before a Series event but... we will cross that bridge when we get to it...
Enoch Lowry July 25 at 6:45pm
Sorry Mr Harper no disrespect meant I guess I should have looked a little closer at the name lol. Also thanks John I swear I remembered winning the doubles on that saturday I know I'm getting old but I didn't think I was that senile yet
Ed Carpus July 25 at 6:16pm
This got sily fast. back to tournament related discussion....where will the first pad at ou be placed? Any ob's? AM2 will be playing the tees as they are, correct?
Jason "Baby Master" Sweeney July 25 at 6:12pm

John Minicuci July 25 at 4:33pm

The 1st GVM flyer was on Sunday, July 27, 2003. Flyer is posted (http://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/Gale_Vaughn_Memorial_2012/pictures/160724#160724) Rebuttal to Dick - the argument could be stated that a big rig driver could think that driving a van sucks. Not every vehicle is for the next person is the same mindset in that not every disc golf course is the same for every disc golfer either. To a beginner, I can see that Beverly offers some fun and challenging shots but maybe not so much ... more

As for you enoch you know who I.am, just trying to let him know sat might get more people out so in the future maybe think about it.and as for.johns little comment, you lost all credabillity when you gave Beverly an A rating that place sucks!

The first one was on a sat
mike walker July 25 at 10:18am
i would like to see it moved to mondays.
Ryan, it ultimately depends on who many people we have show up. We could possibly all play Stony in the morning, then finish at OU. If we have enought players MPO,MA1,MA2 would play Stony in the morning, and the rest of the divisions will be at OU.
