Nicely put Keith. It is amazing that you are still involved with disc golf at the level you are. There will always be those that try to do the math without all the info. I sure hope that all the tourny players out there show the respect that you truly deserve, and apprciate the amount of time and effort you put forth.
I will see you sometime over the Labor day weekend in Ludington. hopfully you can hang on the beach with us on Labor Day as you deserve to.
Rock on Keith

Right on Mark. Right on. I say, always pitch a **** first and then ask questions later. Plus we get to hear from Keith that way:-)

It is always the best policy, I do believe, to call out the Tournament Director on a public forum instead of contacting him personally first. I mean to do otherwise is crazy talk!

Cory we have always charged for the berths usually we take it out of the full field and that was missed at the AJ that is why it was done on the final prizes.
Jamie Vincent August 3, 2010 at 12:47pm
Thank you for better explaining the pay-out keith. I appreciate you taking the time to let us all know why the pay-outs where what they where.. No you will not be seeing me at the state championships, but you will @ the farm classic...
Keith Aten August 3, 2010 at 12:38pm
The clubs pay for the Berth packages from the MDGIO . They are not given to them. The berths actual value is $40 and the clubs are allowed to value them at $15. The last three events I helped run LOST $ not made any so that theory is gone !!! I spend over 100 hrs working for the many clubs I am associated with. I am the only original founder of the MDGO still working for YOU the players and have spent well over 100 hrs per year)for YOU and I have yet to see 1 red cent for my efforts and do not ... more

They did start charging for berth packages this year. I got my birth at AJ Open and they took 15 bucks out of my payout for the berth package. And yes Jamie Vincent is a clown.
Jamie Mosier August 3, 2010 at 10:49am
They added 500 to pro I don't think they pocketed that much someone official please break the payouts down for this clown
Scott White August 2, 2010 at 12:30pm
don't forget the PDGA fees.
Jamie Mosier August 2, 2010 at 12:27pm
Low entry fee + players pack + births + trophies =lowpayout
Jeff "Heyman" Schropp August 2, 2010 at 12:18pm
Great tournament, Matt, Keith, J-Bird, Thom, Jeff and everyone else that helped out. I thought the "A" hole was a lot of fun, as well as the other extra holes.
Sean Blazo August 2, 2010 at 12:05pm
That payout sounds real bad. Somebody help explain. Those numbers Jamie posted don't add up. Where'd the money go?
Jamie Vincent August 1, 2010 at 9:37pm
Great course and great people... However this was the worst amatuer pay-out ive ever witnessed. In a field of 24 people @ $30 a person, and the winner gets $55??? Less than 50% pay-out....Why?????

Creg Hartman Am2, Please remove me from Am2. I'm not going to be able to make it to the Tourny tomorrow. Thanks!
Anthony Mason July 31, 2010 at 8:03pm
Anthony Mason, add me to intermediate in place of someone that dropped out, i will be there in the morning to confirm this.
you boys are crazy... Thank you all for making the J-bird series as good as it is. People don't realize the time that is takes to do one single tournament. I love the people that help out so much, and I really wish more people would do the same. It's suppose to be give more than you take :)
