Any Idea what year this article was Jim? Looks like Sal had a PDGA number, 4976, that has not been renewed since 1994. I found one tournament he played in. The Inflight Open that was held in Lansing on July 3rd and 4th of 1993. Keith Aten was TD. Some familiar disc golf names in that tourney including Scott Stokely!

I know Sal still has a Lansing address but I'm sure Keith will know everything. This article was in the paper in 1988.
