Again, thanks to all who participated, and especially to those who volunteered in some form to help it run smoothly. Discraft has officially received PDGA approval for the disc. All Ace Race discs are legal to use in any PDGA-sanctioned disc golf tournament. The name of the disc is the Zombee. The logo is pretty cool, I'll try to add it to the pictures section. It follows the recent trend of naming most discs with a stinging-insect theme (buzzz, hornet, wasp, etc.). Here is the ... more

Thanks for putting that together Kevin. It was... surprisingly fun considering the verymemorable conditions! And below is a synopsis of what I mentioned before tournament. As Bill "The Ninja" Savage mentioned to me, if Lorain County Metroparks comes aboard, it may help open things up in other communities who have been a little slow to embrace the sport. Bill Vaughn Lorain County Metro Parks is working on their 10 year plan, and the assistant director is psyched about disc g ... more

Thanks everyone who took part, and especially to those who helped me pull it off a lot more smoothly. I will be posting the picture and a video comp from the second round soon.

*** NOTE - Someone left an umbrella (green/blue/white) in the shelter. I took it home with me. Just let me know who and we'll figure out how to return it to ya.

I hope everyone had a good time in spite of the weather.

Watch around July next year for the 2013 date to be scheduled, and by all means spread the word about the positives you experienced in taking part.

- Kevin Hitch

For those able to come help tomorrow, I can bring the packages in so that you can get yours early. A little incentive perhaps?

Kevin Hitch    October 25, 2012 at 9:32pm

I will be at the course on Saturday from 8 until close to noon working on whatever can be worked on while it is wet and in the 40s. Feel free to join in!

I'll be there early Sunday w/ a basket and to help with anything else.

Kevin Hitch    October 24, 2012 at 10:26pm

Also, there will be food available, either hot dogs grilled up or chili. Any other food donors welcome. Also, with a 46-degree forecast, we'll likely have a fire in the fireplace (let me know if anyone is willing to provide wood). AND THERE WILL BE ADDITIONAL OPTIONAL CONTESTS for fundraising purposes to benefit the park: 1. MULLIGANS - take a second throw on a hole. $2 per mulligan, or 6 for $10. Maximum 12. These are effectively additional Ace Race shots, with all proceeds to be ... more

Anyone willing to bring a basket to use as a temp hole, please let me know, and bring it! I have a number of contingent temp holes I can put into play. Packages arrived today. They are pretty sweet. The weights are all in the 170s (several 177+, several 175-176, and about 10 174), and the colors only range from yellow to orange to red. Sunglasses are all sorts of colors, and again will be your choice upon arrival. For those concerned about distance, I have a number of holes that will b ... more

For those who are interested and able, on Saturday morning a couple of us will be working on course cleanup and some brush clearing for some new tees (in particular, a long tee for hole 2). Not certain of the exact time yet, but I am anticipating 9 to noon being the likely timeframe. If you can come, bring a garbage bag or two and any equipment that you can lend to the situation. They can include wheelbarrows, cutting equipment (saws, etc.), digging equipment (we may work additionally on the ... more

Kevin - I would appreciate your inclusion of your basket, and if you can get another one, even better. I was expecting two from someone who I don't believe signed up.

Unfortunately, I do not have any extra packages ordered, and I don't anticipate enough demand that I could place a re-order for additional packs (where some players loan one of their two discs to another for the tourney), as I would need a minimum reorder of 10.

I will post notice if I end up with an extra on the off-chance.

Kevin Wilsterman    October 23, 2012 at 9:41pm

I have one person that wants to come out and play

Kevin Wilsterman    October 23, 2012 at 9:40pm

did you order any extra packs

Kevin Wilsterman    October 19, 2012 at 12:10pm

I have a skill shot basket I can bring if needed and I can probably get my hands on another basket as well if you need extras.. . . . . looks like it could be a pretty good turn out

brett m    October 18, 2012 at 9:14pm
