Found a Z Flick and a Dyeing to Throw towel on the course. Turned both in at the club house. The guy that lost the flick was in the group ahead of us but we spent too much time looking for our shots before we found it and he was gone.

Great job out there! Course had some nice challenge and length. Had a great round under the hot sun, if any finds an orange blizzard wraith i lost on 18 somewhere near the bucket

Great having you out. The turn out was amazing. The course can only get better, and the rough rough is mission number one.

Brian "DGFC" Evans   July 12, 2014 at 11:11pm

I loved the potential of the course, the rough slowed us down a bit hunting for discs. I would love to help when i can find the time. if your group needs a weed whacker a body let me know. Not from the detroit area but i would love to get involved

Happen to note that the Detroit Gold Cup boat races are this weekend as well. Any thoughts on how that will impact the festivities. Same side of the island? Seems like it is. Maybe we can catch a little of the action and play some disc golf, win/win.

Hmm I was not aware of this. Show up early I guess!

Steve Nolff   July 9, 2014 at 10:52am

I don't see the race actually impacting the festivities, the parking lot and golf course area are not likely to be overrun with race spectators, but the island could be in full swing. Not such a bad thing. Maybe that just means a better opportunity to showcase our game and course. See ya on Saturday.

I agree with Steve on all fronts - will bring plenty of people. The plot for DG is kinda out of the way, so I don't think too many people coming for boats will take those spots.

Great to see that you guys are continuing to make progress! I am out of the country until August, but look forward to checking out the course when I return.

It's been almost a year and a half since I've been here. If I don't go to midland Saturday then I'll be playing here. Hope to see ya!

Hooray!! BUT my schedule has me committed to a local tournament on July 12. Each year I plan for a tournament at Belle Isle. I will keep Sept and Oct. open and wait to hear about the next opportunity to play this important star in the constellation of Michigan courses.

" important star in the constellation of Michigan courses." Could not have said it better...

So great to hear the day has come! What's the course looking like, mowing-wise? I played at the tournament last year and it was a jungle..

Still have some work to do, but we were able to get the tougher things out of the way last weekend. We'll be back out there this weekend, and we'll have a few smaller projects being worked on this week.

Saw a couple pics on DGCR yesterday. The mowing looks far more intensive than last season.
