I would like to thank john and staff for a great tournament. I think that everything was done very well. I wanted to offer up a couple of suggestions for next year for the AM side. I understand the need to only play 18 hole rounds for sunday as I enjoyed going over and watching the pros play. I think we could have played 2 24 hole rounds on saturday as the alternate holes at hudson are some great holes. Then play 18 holes on sunday. I also would have liked to see a DGLO stamp disc in the p ... more

Am 3 Original Shorts, 55 - Rating = 951. My Original Longs, 55 - Rating = 933. Huh?
Scary? Nah. It just takes extra time to set up the pools and what courses they played. Staff was already working LATE into the night ach night since Thuraday
It will all be resolved and you can see more accurate round ratings..

My ride fell through last minute and I wont be able to make it there anymore- Is it possible that I have a friend pick up my players pack for me?
xl would be great, it will be picked up by Am 2 player Christopher Kortman- Thank you very much John, really bummed I can't make it out

For your info xaymon Pugh signed up for pdga wed night called breiner to confirm he is set?
Huh. I talked to the Tour Manager and he said he was not current. I am sure John called him..

I withdrew from the tournament earlier this week and then received a Refund Notification the following morning and was no longer listed as registered on the PDGA website. It has been over 48 hours since I received the notification and my credit card still hasn't been refunded. When I signed up the tax for registering was credited back to my card in less than 24 hours. I know it is crunch time and you've been very busy, and you're doing a great job, but I'd like to know who to take this up with. Reply to the e-mail sent from Erich? Thanks in advance. Stuart Loveall #30416
Erich would be in control of the funds so that would be my suggestion as to whom to speak with

John, your the man!, your doing a great job, Do you need help with anything?
Chris Leo and I are heading out to the Toboggan and Hudson Mills. If you want to go, the tour bus is leaving around noon.

John has posted tee times on the PDGA website, but for some reason they are not showing up yet, the page should refresh soon. Not sure what is going on. He did everything he could though to help me out and make sure I knew what was up. Really appreciate the personal help and can't wait to play the tournament tomorrow.
Where on pdga website can AMs find tee times for the pros today?

I am trying to track down 2 AM players that are not PDGA members but need to be one before Saturday. Any help in tracking these people down is greatly appreciated:
Andrew Engelking AM1
Zac Williams AM3
Andrew is new and send me an image of his PDGA confirmation. SHould I call the PDGA to see if they can provide us a number?
That would only be needed for the final TD report which I am sure will be a few days after the event at best.

The Day before A NT Starts and Still no T-Times REALLY
I'm needing help just to get into town on time for my tee time. If I don't know it by early evening tonight I'll be withdrawing, and will expect a full refund. Person giving me a ride up to the event has to set up other more important plans by then. MARK S - That change, at the last m ... more
Sorry Shaun, if you want to talk about frustrating, let me bend your ear a little..
i wish i could play, I am sure this will be a great event, it is nice to have an NT back in MI, good luck to all the Michigan Pro's, it will be on my schedule next year

I noticed that there's a chance for severe weather on Saturday and I was curious as to how severe the weather has to be in order for the tourney to get canceled / postponed. And if that's the case, any idea as to when it would be rescheduled?
i heard there may be a high risk of alien invasion with the weather. jk
I think it is the notion there may be several "flying saucers" in the area.

For anybody that was wondering I spoke with John today and he said 1st round is no longer gonna be carder by ratings!!! Ftw
It could have taken you 8 tries, as long as you passed and you got in...

Played Hudson Mills today. On the Original course. basket -#5 (I think) has broken away from the pole. A spot welder should do the trick; a temporary replacement would suffice.

this will be my first big touney since the accident and i plan on doing welll. I AM SUPER EXCITED!!!!
Darren Harper May 29, 2013 at 5:36am
Sorry john for all the questions, kirk h just moved to masters how and when will he receive the 25$ difference? Thanks for taking this on you'll do great.
I asked for that today. He should receive it almost instantly after it gets processed. I will check again tomorrow for him. And thank you. It has been a lot of fun so far. We are definately surrounded by a lot of good disc golf people!
Darren Harper May 29, 2013 at 2:24am
Its OK for some local grandmasters to sign up for great lakes open! Come on guys let's fill this.
Darren Harper May 29, 2013 at 2:20am
Since I got burned assuming the tee times is the park on the other side of parking lot going to have multiple practice baskets and space to warm up at?
Adam, details you are looking for are posted here- http://greatlakesopen.org/
is there going to be a large flymart at hudson mills as well. Will need to pick up a few things for the round
Discraft will have merch out there. The clinic is at 6 pm on Saturday. No flymart this year, just like last year. We were close but maybe next year...
Aaron Gabrielse May 28, 2013 at 8:54am
When do ams need to check in and where? Is this already stated somewhere?
This information should be posted in the GreatLakesOpen.org website later today...
Pid James May 28, 2013 at 5:35am
I am currently physically unable to play in the tournament. Can I withdraw and be refunded? If so, what is the process for doing so?
You just initiated the process. I will get with Discraft in the morning.
Thank you. The name is Stuart Loveall #30416 and I'm registered in Advanced.

Getting some great help from a friend on sat and sun next weekend still maybe need a caddie on Fri at the toboggon Kensington. Teeing off early so rest of day is wide open for ya. Will give cash and or plastic and or combo. Thank you 248-765-0910.
they probably have to wait untill its full or before the last day.
2 24 hole rounds on Saturday would have all but eliminated any chance for the Discraft clinic but the suggestion is on the list. Tournament named disc. I agree, check. Campground, check. Fly mart this year almost happened, check. On a side note: the 24 hole format and fly mart on the same day might be tough. Maybe a fly mart at the Toboggan on Friday night?
Yeah that could work as well. what about doing the sunday round on black locust at kensington for all the ams? it is a 27 hole layout. Do not know if that would work but just a thought. As a third option for another course.
Other than the fact that I ripped my finger open and required 4 stitches, DGLO was a blast and I will definitely be returning next year!
Nick, that was me who called you Sunday night. How is your finger and how long are you going to be out? That was one nasty cut. I hope the doctor cleaned it our real well before stitching you up!
Yeah I had just missed your call, tried giving oh a ring back but voicemail was full, I'm sure you are a busy man! I made it to urgent care and ended up requiring 4 stitches and a tetanus shot. Stitches come out in 10 days so not too bad of a down period. I'm more bummed that I couldn't finish the last round of the tourney to establish my PDGA rating! Oh well, hopefully soon!
I appreciate the follow up though, thanks John and very well done with tourney organization. It was a great experience for a first time tourney!
