Basket 2 at woodmansee has been vandalized by what I can tell, the basket is broken off the post and the post is crooked, can this be repaired by by Saturday morning? I have a tournament there, I have a portable basket if need be but itd be nice if the original basket were repaired

I don't know for certainty, but with all the eclipse craziness starting this weekend, I'd say better bring temp. basket.

The City of Salem does all basket maintenance/repairs and they are unable to get out there until after the eclipse.

Sunday ill be holding a special fathers day round at Adair disc golf course, we will tee off at 9am, still haven't determined a format but should be a great round. I will also be running this round as a D.O.R.C's round. If yiur interested in joining in the Dorcs summer point series check the league page or contact beast of the woods. All are welcome fathers or not hope to see you all out there

New basket layout. I have not played in a while but as of today baskets have been moved. Hole 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, if memory serves have been moved.

A friend lost a red Valkerie left off the tee into the blackberries (waaaay into them, maybe even to the creek). It might have had his name & number on it though.

Someone did take my orange huk lab stamped Star Destroyer while I was warming up though :( it's been in my bag for 3 years now and is at it's perfect seasoned for max distance so if you see someone throwing that, that would be great (had my name and number on it)

D.O.R.C'S will be held at hornings hideout this Sunday the 13th and guest hosted by myself. We will be doing a trifecta format, singles, doubles, lone wolf, there will be a carpool meeting at 7am at the market and Hawthorne park and ride. We're doing a potluck lunch so bring something to contribute, this is a all day trip so plan for it. It's 4$ a person for the day, and gas contribution is greatly appreciated as well

Is anybody able to answer up or take charge of what is going on with getting Woodmansee coursed properly mowed and playable. Understand we are now at 3-4 foot tall fairways, not good or playable. Thank you.

The City of Salem Parks Dept takes care of mowing the course.

Loyd, yes it is used by WVCG and mony others that play our sport. Not much of a answer from you my opinion since we all use it. CCDG is representative club for area, has a coursekeeper assigned. Seems that they should be involved, this has gone on to many years now.

And as a concerned City of Salem citizen you can call and ask the parks department what their mowing schedule is for their parks. But in years past they have waited to mow Woodmansee until there was a fire hazard because of it being one of Salem's natural (as little maintenance as possible, other than the sports field and bathrooms) park.

As representative group with greenskeeper assigned to Woodmansee would have thought this would have been handled and worked out woth city by now. As with everything it basically comes down to money. Does the City have the money to mow the park several times a year? Probably not. But asking them for a schedule of mowing will at least let them know that park goers are upset that it is not being cared for, or that park goers want it to be taken care off so they can enjoy the park.

I think there is a misconception that any disc golf club/organization or individual has any power over what the City does. As Zac can attest, this is simply not the case.
