This could be a solution, at least a start.

**Everyone is on their honor to conduct themselves according to the rules and within the spirit of competition. Have fun. It's only a tag. The purpose of the Bag Tag Challenge is to encourage friendly competition among Northern Utah Disc Golf Association members.

**In order for the Bag Tag Challenge to work, all challenges must be accepted.

**Each player must have their Bag Tag at all times. Bag Tags must be plainly visible and can not ... more

My comment compliments many others (Rod, Rick, etc) - I play to play and have fun. Tags ARE NOT trophies. If you get your panties up in a wad over what tag number you are holding and leave it at home so nobody can challenge you for it ... well, that's your reputation and respect on the line. I also agree that tags at tournies are rather bogus because of the variance between Open and Advanced tees - unless otherwise announced before the tourney starts (ergo handing in your tag at the time of ... more

NUDGAs,
I delt with many of these issues while on the board for the San Diego Aces. We had to clearly define the rules and state them on the club website. They are simple such as everyone on your card is an automatic tag challenge (no need to declare challenge). Tournament rounds with others in different groups as optional and declared before the event. I think the Aces rules are too complicated, but here they are for reference. http://sandiegoaces.com/bag-tag-rules/
I hope this helps.

I agree, why does this have to be so complicated?

I'm really sad about where this is going. I don't like the segregation. In my opinion if you sign up for NUDGA you are a part of the club whether you live in Salt Lake, Heber, Texas or wherever. On the other hand I have no respect for someone who wins a low tag and refuses to play for it. I have seen that in Ogden area locals as well. No matter what happens you will still have those people, even if you start a local tag group you won't turn down someone who wants one. It just woul ... more

Chris you played advanced and showed up an hour late to the RPO, So what you talkin bout'? By the way I always thought tags were for TAG rounds, and every other competition i.e. tourneyleague was just that, a seperate competition. With no need of even involving tags. I never liked playing for tags on those occasions, seemed very arbitrary to me. Anyway just wanted to say hello and got involved in an argument. There is a huge storm coming my way. Everyone is panicking stores are empty and paranoia is rampant.... Hopefully we will survive SNOWMAGEDDON 2011

How much is a Tag/ club dues?

This just shows the need for some club by-laws. We need a clear set of rules concerning bag tags. For example, a rule could be: If you want to challenge for someones tag, you must do just that, challenge them BEFORE the round starts.
Also, as long as every NUDGA gets a bag tag with their membership, we are going to have to accept the fact that some tags are going leaving the Ogden area and never come back. The purpose behind the IDEA of having a second set of tags (seperate from membership ... more

I don’t care for playing for tags at tournaments when all players don’t play the same tee pads or baskets. Open’s play reds, Am’s play yellows etc. as a matter of fact I don’t like playing for tags at tournaments at all. That’s just my preference. I will do it though if it is decided before the tournament starts. Don’t come to me after the tournament and ask for my ... more

Its just a Tag!!! been through the same stuff. If i was from one end of town id be more apt if i was a good player to travel to the other end of town to challenge for that tag. All and all its just a tag...PEACE Get outdoors and Just Disc Golf! :-)>

I think some people are taking it the wrong way. The only problem we have is somone will win one of the top nudga tag's than never come to play are tag round's. That was the problem last year. So I am sure it will be a problem this year to. I hope its not but it will be hard to stop.

So you gave your tag up to willis then he said he had a tag did you give yours to him? I said that i dont like to play for tags at tourneys especialy when the only reason that it was brought up was because someone had a good round, If it was determined befor the begining of the tourney that we were playing for tags then id have no problem giving up my tag, but after the tourney people asking What did you shoot to everyone to see if they could get the best tag is wrong. and then trying to get a bunch of people involved that didnt need to by running your mouth isnt the right thing either.

I heard a rumor sat. at the SLC Ice Bowl that BLEW MY MIND!!! Some stupid jackass is telling people that NUDGA tags are only for members in the Ogden area, no Salt Lake people can have them. Can you effin believe it? Anyone who knows our organization and of our giving philosophies knows that this can't be further from the truth. Hell Kent would give a tag to his worst enemy (if he had one) and smile while doing it! Whoever the DICKHEAD is that is saying this should have his tag and membershi ... more
