Who knew K-State Disc Golf would be a viable recruiting tool for incoming students! Got an email from New Student Services:

"There is a student visiting campus tomorrow (Nov. 1), and he is extremely interested in Disc Golf. I was wondering if there was any chance someone might be able to meet with him for just a quick meeting (30 minutes or less) to tell him more about our Disc Golf Club..."

**UPDATE** Iowa Collegiate Disc Golf Championships, Day 2:

Early start this morning as we competed in two rounds of singles play on the Indian Hills Community College campus course (18-hole, Par 55). Tough course to shoot well considering the best first round score was only 1-over par. Unfortunately, we did qualify for the 2013 NCDGC at this event, but it was a fun trip and a great experience.

Individual Results:
1) A.J. Cruz: 64, 54 = 123
2) Josh Carroll: 63, 63 = 126
3) Travis Bailey: 66, 66 = 132
4) Tim Nispel: 68, 68 = 136

**UPDATE** Iowa Collegiate Disc Golf Championships, Day 1:

After departing Manhattan, KS bright and early at 4:00 am, we met at Memorial Park course for one round of best shot/alternate shot team play. There are a total of 7 schools in attendance with 11 teams competing (7 Championship division, 4 First Flight division).

We got off to a rough start as we were 3-over par after the first 7 holes, but we rallied and strung pars for the next 9 holes before scoring Birdie on 2 of the last 3 holes (19 hole course, Par 58).

Fairmont Doubles is STILL ON for tomorrow, Friday October 5th! Bryce Williams will be there to record scores. Wish the rest of the crew luck as we road trip it to Ottumwa, IA for a chance at qualifying for the 2013 National Championships!

I spoke with Rec Services this evening to update our roster and turn in some paperwork and I asked about the funding for the trip. The good news is that he thinks that we will more than likely get the money necessary to finance the trip. The bad news, that money will only be reimbursed AFTER the trip. I do have a plan to find sponsorship money to at least cover the expenses for the event so if all goes well, we will ... more
