If you haven't made it out to Fairmont in the last couple days, you might want to check out the last few photos in this photo album. Very exciting!

I hope that I'm not stepping on any toes by saying this, but Warner seems abandoned. The grass is above my knees and it's become a ghost town. I'm willing to help clean the course up and even mow, but I'm not sure who does it or how it's done.
I'd just like to see my favorite course busy and clean again! Haha.
Side note, are we gonna have a fall league there? Waiting on details to let my groups in class know if I can meet on Wednesdays or not. AND, we need to have another organized swap meet soon. I need some different plastic.
It was decided at our last DFOK meeting to delay the start of the 2013-2014 Bag Tag League and Points League until after the bulk of the Fairmont project is complete. I'm sure we'll get it started back up this fall. Please feel free to attend the next DFOK meeting to help make rules, schedules, etc. decisions.
Once again Travis, you're not stepping on (my) toes because you make many valid points. I think it highlights why our club needs to continue to get more organized in order to keep stay on top of course maintenance issues. Wether it be doing the work or keeping the facility owners on top of our ... more
Thanks for the info Rick! Yeah, I've never seen the grass this high. It takes a few minutes to even find a disc in the fairway. The tall stuff is even sometimes up to my waist. Thanks again!

You may not want to play the back 9 of Fairmont today. ;-)
Mark Kewley August 28, 2013 at 2:09am
I'm on the way to Dubs

Hip hip hooray, the County is cleaning up Fairmont #1 fairway.
To specify, they only scooped up and hauled off the nasty piles of brush and random metal items on the left...
Maybe they spotted it. That's the area that mine was in. If not, should be easier to find mine now! Thanks to them!
It was a huge difference last night out there, however it didn't keep my disc on the fairway any better ;)

Hey everyone! I lost my River on hole 1 at Fairmont. It's a red/magenta color in Opto plastic. Has my name on it. It's to the left of the fairway. Thanks for looking!

I am going to go play a round at the new Randolph couse today, anyone want to join?
I probably won't get up there today, so let me know if/when you want to go on Sunday.
I'm out for a road trip today. Sorry. This is going to be a busy week for me, so there's a lot to do today.
No problemo. I just went out and played a couple rounds at Tuttle (after doing the same at Fairmont yesterday). So I got plenty of disc golf in this weeked.
Rick Petrie August 22, 2013 at 7:12am
Thanks to Mitch Innes, Randolph Kansas now has a disc golf course!

Go check it out.

Anyone playing today?
If you dont mind I may come on out... new to town wanting to play with some ppl
Mark Kewley August 20, 2013 at 6:13am
So… If we didn’t move the basket on hole 1 to the long placement, there is a very good chance Tim Nispel would have hit it tonight.
Remember that line Tim :)
And if you hadn't moved the basket back, maybe I wouldn't have had a SIX on my first attempt at that hole with a permanent basket. But I think there will be other sixes in my future there....

I found this long news piece on disc golf through the Gotta Go, Gotta Throw Facebook feed (they are a major Minnesota retailer featured in the video). It raises some interesting issues about the growth of the sport, and I thought people here might want to see it: http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2013/08/18/disc-golfs-popularity-exploding-for-better-for-worse/.
I agree with you Jon, we should cool it with this disc golf propaganda before it gets out of control.
Well, I didn't say I agreed with anything in particular. I just thought it was interesting that this "debate" is taking place on a local network station in a major media market. Being a music fan, I am very familiar with the analogy the young reporter is making, and I tend to agree with those who think that expansion is good for the sport.

Just a reminder today AUGUST 19th at Fairmont we are going to be having a swap meet (disc trading ) at 5 30 then we are going to flip for teams and play doubles for disc so bring a disc to put in the pile to choose from and bring discs to trade for
I don't think I can make it tonight, but if you guys have Z-, ESP-, or FLX-Buzzz (>175g) that you can part with, let me know. I have some discs available for trade if you're interested in.

Hello all Fairmont frenzied players. Tee pads #1, #4, #9 thru 18, have now been marked for concrete tee pads.
Please do your best to not knock down the white flags, or alter the tacked down orange ribbon on the ground. If these things get out of whack, it could cause delays (by confusing the non-player construction workers).
should of used spray paint instead then u wouldnt have to worry bout the ribbons getting destroyed
We used paint also, but I'm not going to ask people to stay off that... not really possible.
Mark Kewley August 19, 2013 at 3:42am
Bring your extra discs to Fairmont tomorrow night, Monday the 19th 5:30 for a swap meet. Then a doubles round.
You should play triples, with a "verify" putt to close out each hole...
Mark Kewley August 17, 2013 at 5:28am
I'll be at Fairmont tomorrow morning to do some cleanup on 1,2 & 6 so we can play the long placements. It will probably be after 10:00.

Monday night 6pm DOUBLES FOR DISCS at Fairmont! Who's in?
I scheduled a round on the main page: http://www.discgolfscene.com/
Troy Pike August 15, 2013 at 9:18pm
Anyone playing today? New to town. Available anytime for any course.
Troy, you'll probably want to catch up with this guy when he gets back to Manhattan next week. ( http://www.discgolfscene.com/profile/16843 ) ... K-State DC Club.
Thanks Rick. Played Fairmont today... Its changed A LOT since last month and it looks great
Glad you liked it, but it still a work in progress. We assembled and installed 10 of those baskets one week ago tonight. We're not done though. Awesome looking permanent signage is in the works, plus concrete tee pad construction will be starting very soon...

I just scheduled a round at Warner on the main page of DGS: http://www.discgolfscene.com/
It has been a while since I have been there. Disc Exchange Round?
I'd love to come, but when you post these links they are just links to the homepage? What time are you thinking?
Same issue that Mitchell was having yesterday. Scheduled rounds will not show unless you are "friends" with the person who scheduled the round.

Putting in a local plug for a couple of KDGA tournaments that I'll be participating in this coming weekend if anybody is interested. Might be the last chance to enjoy a great weekend of disc golf before the summer's over.

Sunday, August 18th - Redskin Rendezvous, Little River KS, Konen Creek Disc Golf Course
Saturday night will be a player's party/BBQ open to all players. $5 entry putting c ...

Disc Golf round scheduled: http://www.discgolfscene.com/
I'd imagine it has something to do with the fact that you and Mark aren't "friends" on DiscGolfScene.
No problem Travis. I realize Warner may seem like a ghost town, that's because we're working on getting the new Fairmont up & running. The attention will balance back out soon. In the mean time, feel free to pick up & dispose of trash if you see any out there. I know I do when I play.
