I haven't played Indy in a year and half, since the additions were finalized into 2 separate courses. At the time, it was only the X-holes. I feel that some of the additions and changes made were unfortunately for the worse. I normally don't review courses, but I've made enough comments on social media to justify doing it now. Some of the existing long pads that were extended into the current Black tees made already good holes excessively difficult for no reason, specifically holes 4 and 9 in my opinion. Some of the short pads are arguably more difficult than the long pads, and I'll use holes 6 and 7 as examples for this. The players you intend to use those pads likely will not have the shot required in their repertoire to be remotely successful on those holes, and even then don't really have lines or fairways to aim at. Additionally, some of these changes result in tee shots aiming directly at players on the next teepad, or very close to them (5 from 4, 9 from 8, 11 from 10, etc) making tournament play slow and dangerous. Regarding Hole 15 (double mando), in it's current state is not a disc golf hole. There is no reasonable line to the basket, and I even opted to throw directly over the trees towards the basket instead of utilizing the fairway from the Drop Zone when I missed the Mando during the event I played this past weekend. A commonly suggested alternative that was discussed during the event was placing the basket on top of the mound in between the two small water features, which in my opinion would make a good hole. This change however, would obviously alter how the hole is played from the other teepad. I unfortunately believe that whomever designed these changes did not consult who they should have, or did not offer the chance for feedback as I've heard the exact same complaints from players of all skill levels throughout the weekend. If any additional changes are made in the future, I sincerely hope that the park seeks feedback and constructive criticism regarding any changes, because unfortunately these changes have already driven some people away from revisiting the property.
