It must be rough having to play all of those tourneys in such a short time ;), haha... I havne't made a single one since I've moved out here, but hopefully will have a full schedule as soon as I have a steady flow of travel funds. I'm still trying to decide if I can make the KC wide open (it's looking like a stretch right now, but I might just have to sell off part of the collection if ticket prices drop soon).
...as of right now, my next solid plan for KS isn't until Thanksgiving week. I was hoping to make a round in Manhattan if anyone was staying around town for the holiday.

Adam,
Yep, I got a call mid morning today saying mine were ready too. So I picked mine up over my lunch hour. I will probably be wearing mine to Warner Wednesday tonight.

It has been difficult to get straight answers from them regarding when any shirts would be done. Strange really. I think it's because our project is so small that they are just fitting them in as they can.

I suppose as long as we like them, and get them in a reasonable time, then I'm okay with them.

I just picked up my shirt today and it is looking sweet. I'm gonna break it in Wichita this weekend to spread the word on the most fanatical fans of disc golf in Kansas. Then it should be ready to go for its tournament debut.

Hey Rick, I sent a message to Mark on Discgolfscene. If he doesn't show up, I will look for someone else. If nothing else, I can drop them by at Warner at 5:30.

I really liked Zane's idea of having a 1 round period to committ. I think another idea would be to redistribute tags every 6 months or every 4 months. As we all know it is probably impossible to prevent people from poaching a tag so maybe it would be best to weed out those people by having shorter seasons. Maybe even a fall/winter season and a spring/summer season. If we could distribute "tag pockets" or some way to hold the bag and then just print out a new background to be placed in tag for each season. Ofcourse I'm sure it is not as easy as I made it sound.

I've been milling over this for the last few weeks and there really is no good way that I can think of the enforce any obligation to accept/ or put your tag up for a challenge. I think that it is important to stress the importance to newcomers of keeping tags in rotation, but lets be realistic: somebody will always come and try to snatch #1 (and end up leaving with a low number, never to be seen again). This is a common practice for a lot of players who travel, and athough it is a total D** ... more

I agree with you Rick, in every point you made. I do agree that the numbers will be down but with time they will rise. I think once parks get their improvements, it will bring more to play. The small things done to make them better shows, especially hearing that Adam was going around grabbing beer bottles at Fairmont.

Thanks or the answer Rick. Where do you post DFOK news? I'd like to follow that as well. The name thing is something I'm willing to do through GTM then, it was just a thought. Looking forward to the shirts!

He was actually a great partner till the playoff CTP. Tomorrow I will be Vinnie free so hopefully I play well again.

Haha, nah, I'm sure it's just the results of acclimating to a much more difficult course (Warner) and coming back to my wide open range here in Hutchinson. I think you guys will be in for a real treat. The course has greened up nicely. During a "Clean-up the Course" round with some current league members, the course was like a sanctuary! Golden sun rays, not a touch of wind, absolutely gorgeous!

No prob. I think that's just how that "wunderkind duo" rolls.

No, we never discussed tags. I didn't know they were out there -- got a call as I pulled up to the first tee. They were finishing their first round and had seen me drive by. There wouldn't have been any tag changes, anyway, except maybe between the two of them, and I don't know what they had negotiated before I arrived.

Today we went to Waterworks... probably my favorite course so far. Then we played Cliff drive which was a little bipolar. Tomorrow is probably Shawnee Mission and Swope... maybe Rosedale again. They have a new Dynamic Discs store here down the street from Rosedale. Scores have been a little high but to be expected in long courses that are unfamiliar. Any suggestions for saturday?

Dakota, Yes I'm sure there will be a carpool to the DU Open from Manhattan. We can further discuss the details while attending Saturday's tourney in Hutch.

Is there going to be a carpool for the herrington tourney the 31st?

Thanks again for the shout-out on DiscGolfScene! Already at 42 registrants and just received the shipment of custom-stamp discs. Uploaded pics to the tourney page.
