“Incredible. 7 deuces, almost as many as I've had on this course - and I bogeyed two of the holes I get well over 75% of the time (6, 13). This could have been a tremendous round. I bogeyed the pitch and putt hole 1 as well, though the guardian trees usually keep me from getting a short putt on it.”

“Not at the level of play that I expect of myself, but it was cold, blustery, foggy, and wet. So it wasn't ideal conditions.”

“Inconsistent round - just trying to jam it in before darkness fell for the second straight day. After all of the hiking I did all week at work my leg were absolutely spent.”

“I know I shot a 53, but I could be off about the exact hole scores. I'm less than clear on exactly how holes 4-9 went, but that is the correct stroke number through that stretch.”

“Started on hole 10. Shot my worst back 9 in weeks with a 29. Came around on the front 9 and after missing 40 foot birdie opportunities on holes 3 and 4... Deuced out. Missed two putts from inside of the circle on hole 12, otherwise a clean putting round.”

“Missed three inside of the circle, along with a few circles-edge putts that were obstructed. Made one shot from outside of the circle - last hole, #9. I was pretty much irked by missing the 18 footer on 8 for par. Did not feel as good as it was. Putting was off, but the driving was on.”

“One thing about mountains in the winter - they aren't calm. Blustery strong winds. I missed from inside the circle on holes 3 and 9, though I countered those slightly with a nice 35 footer on 13. Also lost a stroke to a nasty roll off of a log under hole 2's basket. Overall better round than the 51 would indicate. I am feeling closer to a 1000 rated player than at any time since the early part of 2011.”

“First person to ever shoot in the 40s at the upper course here. Definitely a good feeling. But it would have been nice to make my 18 footer for par on hole 8 near the end of the round (started on 10). Let the score get in my head.”

As my putting has improved, so has my confidence in running from deeper - on 5 and 7 both I ran from 45 feet and overshot the basket, leaving tough comebacks. All a part of the progression toward a better game. On the plus side: I had several difficult putter forehands come up roses, and made several from the 25-33 range including a 32 footer on 16.”

“Same limited bag as last round. Ran through it to beat daylight. Could have been a damn shocking 6 under - missed jumpers on 1 and 9, and a sub-20 footer on 7. Both jumpers were splash throughs, though the shorty I missed was just a straight awful putt.”

“Holes 16-18 are legit brutal holes. 16/17 are legit par 4, impossible to get within 75' of the pin without a miracle. 18 is simply a tough line on a par 3. But all the same - it is so very frustrating to hit 51, the course, record, so many times - and to go 1-2 over par on those three holes every single time.”

“Played a glow round after a few margarita pitchers at Oasis. Then went back and had another pitcher. Played the round with a Ch. Glo Firebird and a Challenger to putt with. Also shot a +2 prior to the margs playing left handed.”

“Gave Hadeed and Vogelpohl each 12 strokes, $5 a man, individual bets. Hadeed shot a +5, but Vogelpohl shot -1 to match me. Oh well, made $5. :P And both rounds today were better singles score than my cali score at league yesterday.”

“Overall - great round, but the 5 on hole 16 left a sour taste in my mouth - horrible misplay on an easy 80 foot upshot, and then 3-putted.”

“League round, hit the ace pot for a nice $60 - And won in a playoff over Shufelt and Tom Ross. Sick playoff - 3rd hole, 400 footer, I hit a 55' putt and then Ross hit a 50' to match. Won it on the next hole with a 25' putt though.”
