The Tailings Work Session

Committee Chair Bruce Benkely overseeing the completion of The Tailings, the new Disc Golf Course in Iron River, has announced that Dan Mangone has pledged to provide free discs to participants that volunteer their time during the next work session. On May 1st a work session will be held at the new course south of the Iron River RV Park. Meet at 9:00 at the Apple Blossom Walking Trail foot bridge south of the RV park for directions and work assignments for the day. Dan Mangone, President of Discovering The World has been a provider of Disc Golf, Ultimate Frisbee® products and services to the flying disc enthusiasts for over 32 year. Discovering The World is located in Buena Park California. Dan is a sponsor of the new course in Iron River – The Tailings. Dan was born in Iron River, has family in the area and understands the potential impact this disc golf course can have on the local community. The committee has been meeting to plan the opening of the course in the summer of 2010 as well as an opening tournament.
