I checked out the course status the other day. The signs and basket sleeves for 10, 11 and 12 are in. More clearing is needed but these three holes will be better than the 9 that is already there, lots of elevation, etc.. What does not make sence is that 12 ends way in the back, not near the parking lot. Also, many more trees are marked for what seems to make a great continuous loop all the way to the parking lot. Anyone know the latest details / plans?
the park is not planning to finish the course after our last redesign last year. they have said they will be putting in 3 more holes to make it a 18 hole course, but we do not know if they intend to actually do that for certain. the 18 hole loop would include the 6 holes in t he open field outside ... more
the park is not planning to finish the course after our last redesign last year. they have said they will be putting in 3 more holes to make it a 18 hole course, but we do not know if they intend to actually do that for certain. the 18 hole loop would include the 6 holes in t he open field outside the real disc golf course. the plan would have been to make it a 30 hole course but we could not cut down the big trees, they would not let us and they never got around to it.
The course we designed with beuatiful rolling hills, we hand cleared 90% excluding large trees, the park was to cut and remove dangerous and tall trees. The course we designed with beuatiful rolling hills, we hand cleared 90% excluding large trees, the park was to cut and remove dangerous and tall trees. We meet our deadline to have the hand clearing and marking complete, they set a deadline fore themselves they missed their deadline 4x due to lack of staffing and resources to remove around 30 trees, we were informed Jan they will no longer seeking completion of the course, and without any discussion closed the project and removed the 15 hole design to a 6 hole design, they do not reply to multiple contacts about as to the why when only 3 holes were left to complete the course and we meet all of our contracted agreements once fairway outlaws signed on to the project. It's sad but 1000s of hours have been lost on this project for what had the potential to be a beautiful course, with no response or details as to why the project funding was removed weeks before completion and as to why they missed there deadlines to complete the clearing months prior

I am an Eagle Scout from troop 362. I am the person who last spoke with the DNR about the course. For my Knowledge, the plan was to make an 18 hole course that ended right across from the first hole, making two small loops. I am the scout who finalized the three holes; 10, 11, and 12. Last time i spoke with the DNR they said that they were going to finish the last 6 completing the loop. If they have trouble completing the course due to time or lack of resources, that shouldn't be a problem.

As mentioned before I finished the three holes you see now, I will get with my troop and see if we can get a scout to take on the 6 remaining holes or at least two scouts, 3 each scout, I know the troop is pasinate about disc golf and 90% of them disc golf. my vision was to see the course complete and I know they will get through to me on that part. There are multiple scouts looking for an eagle scout project and some only have a year to do it.
Devin, thanks for the update, sounds like we still have some hope to build on what is currently there. I am passionate to keep this course expansion going also, If I can help in anyway please let me know.
