Course update: 9-16-15
So i just got done playing a round on the newly redesigned course. The layout of the holes is as follows.

Hole 1: Plays on the old hole 4. Tee pad is by the tree that was about half way down the old fairway. Same pin location.
Hole 2: Plays off the old hole 5 tee pad. Pin is up hill and right after the gap.
Hole 3: Tee pad is left of the tree gap from 2. Pin is in the location of old hole 5.
Hole 4: Plays off the old hole 6 with the pad and pin in the same locations.
Hole 5: Plays off the old hole 7 with the pad and pin in the same locations.
Hole 6: Plays off the old hole 8 with the pad and pin in the same locations.
Hole 7: Plays off the old hole 9 with the pad and pin in the same locations.
Hole 8: Plays off the old hole 10 with the pad and pin in the same locations.
Hole 9: Plays off the old hole 11 with the pad and pin in the same locations.
Hole 10: Plays off the old hole 12 with the pad and pin in the same locations.
Hole 11: Plays off the old hole 13 tee pad. Pin is shorter but in the same area.
Hole 12: Plays off the old hole 14 tee pad. Pin is back and right form the old location and no longer behind the guardian bush.
Hole 13: Plays from the other side of the old hole 14 guardian bush back uphill towards new hole 12 pad.
Hole 14: Tee pad is right of new hole 13 pin. Pin is slight down hill through a gap.
Hole 15: Plays in its original format with the pad and pin in the same locations.
Hole 16: Tee pad is right of hole 15 pin. Pin is slight down hill and open.
Hole 17: Plays off the old hole 16 with the pad and pin in the same locations.
Hole 18: Tee pad is on the two track that was used as a walking path from old hole 16 to 17. Pin is at the end and slight right.

Well after playing the new lay out here is my comments. I am happy to have this course back but i do not care for the redesign. For starters you park in the same spot but you have to walk all the way down to old hole 4 to start. On hole 3 there is a storage shed you have to play around. On hole 4 there sits an old soccer net on the left of the fairway, its enough to get in your way. If this course were to get as busy as it used to than i see people getting hit with discs. Not intentionally or anything but there is a lot of overlapping fairways. There are also a lot of pins that sit within 10 feet or so from the next tees pad. The worst case is on hole 15. The layout stays the same but at the end of the bush lines where it breaks out to open fairway there sits holes 14 and 16 baskets. The baskets sit about 80 feet apart with 15 playing right between them. 15 drives almost right over 16 basket. Im not sure who headed up the redesign but i wish they would have utilized the land better. Im not sure why the land behind the new tennis courts with the large bowl shaped hill was not used. You can see the new hole 11 pin from there. They could have put 1 or 2 awesome signature holes right there. Anyway dont let me sway you, get out there and form your own opinion, just keep your head up.

Are the signs up yet?

Miles Lawrence   September 16, 2015 at 10:48pm

No. There are numbered lolly pops on top of all the baskets. If you have played the old lay out you should have no problem navigating the new layout. A lot of the new holes are fairly short and you can see the basket in most cases.

bummer. at least she's back open. kudos to those who made it happen. glad to see the baskets back in commission and course maintained.

****ty redesign, hole 3 is stupid as ****.

Jason Riberas   September 17, 2015 at 7:36pm

I agree. This redesign is horrible. Lots of overlapping fairways. And I agree with Shaun on hole 3, there's no good shot off the tee pad. And the back 9 is worse than the front.

Miles Lawrence   September 17, 2015 at 7:37pm

It really makes me wonder if a real disc golfer was involved in the redesign. Way to many hazardous points.

Shaun Adkins   September 17, 2015 at 8:14pm

having a tournament here would be impossible the way the course is currently designed. it seems like someone spent 10 minutes "redesigning" this **** show. 10 pounds of **** in a 5 pound bag. whoever is responsible for this should be ashamed.

Don't waste your.gas money and if you just have to see it have fun looking for your discs in the weeds. Tee pad and a basket 100 feet away doesn't make a disc golf hole anymore, somebody gonna get hurt with some of the placements. AND WHATEVER YOU DO , DON'T PARK AT THE OLD LOT NEED TO PARK IN APARTMENTS NEAR OLD HOLE 4 THAT'S 1 PAD.,

ahh man! hopes were too high. come play my course gang! I don't stand for that at my place! get up here and check in Sunday before noon for the Mill Creek Championships. we're going in the right direction and building for the future of disc. not some afterthought

Shaun Adkins   September 17, 2015 at 10:26pm

dude, your course is like an hour and a half from ou. we get that you want people to play your course but you look for any excuse to plug your course.

Miles Lawrence   September 18, 2015 at 2:14am

Donny ill get out to your course one day, count on it. But now i have to plug for my course. Come play Seymour Lake, we've done a lot of work to this course and i hope everybody enjoys it and likes whats to come. Dont give up on OU everybody, we can still make it a good course again. MMDGC want ... more

donny v   September 18, 2015 at 9:35am

dude all your home courses were my home courses from 1997-2005. I moved up to here and started building courses out here where there were none. not butthurt though Sadkins. you're an okay guy too. just spreading the dg love to all. I drive to Shelby twp every day to work. ask those whod played my place and they'll agree its worth the drive :)

donny v   September 18, 2015 at 9:53am
