DGLA: Michigan Cooperative Point Series - Summer 2014 *** 5th Annual ***   May 27, 2014 at 10:31pm

DGLA MiCPS-S: HLWs, Stats & News..... 5/27/2014

We hope everyone enjoyed the Memorial Day weekend and plenty of Disc Golf Rounds.

OK I just took at look at the 2014 summary and compared it to 2013 whole season:

Summer 2013

Point Series league - 617 total players
No fee to play in this league
34 participating leagues

Summer 2014 So Far

Point Series league - 726 total players
No fee to play in this league
43 participating leagues

Yeah you can say Disc Golf leagues and the DGLA MiCPS we are growing. I look forward to the final stats but more leagues, more players and more fun already this year over last. Yeah Baby!.....
Talking about more fun - Next week is June already and that mean the two months of Highlighted Leagues of the Week begin with Double points. Cha Ching!

For the MiCPS several of us need those double points to catch the leaders.

NOTE** We have a few Singles handicapped leagues in the MiCPS. To be part of the MiCPS the handicapped leagues must post rounds with the adjusted scores that payouts are based on. There are methods of posting the round strokes and the adjusted score. We know that these leagues need a few weeks to determine the handicaps. In June we will review these leagues to see if they are posting adjusted scores and if not we will have to remove them. We hope to have another option for handicapped leagues soon but for now our rules indicate that adjusted scores must be posted to make this as fair as possible with mixed type leagues in one point series.

Currently 262 points separate 10th place from 1st place and even 3rd to 1st has a 99 point gap - Well that gap could be erased with a large league double point win or it could be extended - How will the season wind-up? Anything can happen - play hard, have fun and stay tuned.

Several players are getting their rounds in this month with Jake Pardo and samuel Samsquanch smith battling it out for the most rounds at 16 currently:

Rounds
1 Jake Pardo 16
1 samuel Samsquanch smith 16
3 Anslie Newman 15
4 Jay B INSANITY DGC 14
4 Wade Calvert 14
6 Taggart Anderson 13
6 Scottie Reslock 13
8 sheldon bowen 12
8 ken "sega salt" moote 12
8 Jeff Hepler 12
8 Geoff Bennett 12

Some of those same players are travling Disc Golf Gypsies such as Geoff Bennett & Wade Calvert making it to 8 different leagues so far this month.

Leagues
1 Geoff Bennett 8
1 Wade Calvert 8
3 Taggart Anderson 7
3 Jake Pardo 7
3 samuel Samsquanch smith 7
3 Tim Gacioch 7
3 Anslie Newman 7
8 ken "sega salt" moote 6
8 Jay B INSANITY DGC 6
8 Jeff Hepler 6

It great when you make the most out of a round and Anslie Newman took half of his 15 rounds for max points with 7 Wins so far this month.

Wins
1 Anslie Newman 5
2 Dustin St. Aubin 4
3 Chris Smith 3
3 Dan Jenkins 3
3 Robert Crosby 3
3 Geoff Bennett 3
3 Tim Gacioch 3
3 Jeff Lozowsky 3
3 Nathan Eurick 3
3 Bill Hall 3
3 Ben Calhoun 3
3 Jake Pardo 3
3 Jamie Mosier 3
3 A Rambo 3

Now you don't have to win each round to earn the most points. Example take 12 rounds, with 3 win, 2 2nds, 2 3rds and a 4th place finish in rounds that counted and you get to count 290 points and probably some nice cash - Nicely done so far in May - Geoff Bennett our current overall leader.

Points
1 Geoff Bennett 290
2 Marc Tokie WPD 223
3 Taggart Anderson 218
4 samuel Samsquanch smith 217
5 Smitty the angry lefty 205
6 Jay B INSANITY DGC 202
6 ken parks 202
8 Scottie Reslock 197
