I am told the practice basket is stolen. I don't be sponsoring any more practice baskets until it is found. Sorry Willow you will have to wait. 200$ cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the thief and return of the basket. Keep your eyes out, someone has it in their yard. 200$ cash reward.

Andy Smith   July 13, 2013 at 10:55am

I thought that would happen when I noticed it look half dug out when I played there last time. I will gladly match Bens $200.00 for anyone that wants to give info for that leads to the person or person's responsible for being total losers and ****ting on our great sport and courses.

Jamie Mosier   July 13, 2013 at 11:17am

200+200=new basket...

Ben Calhoun   July 13, 2013 at 11:25am

Wow, Andy, thanks..it sure does Jamie, and finding the guy means the return of the basket. 400$ will put people on the lookout and make it way more likely to find this scum.

[member not found]   July 13, 2013 at 12:01pm

Be careful with a reward like that though, the guy who stole it could easily just take advantage of the situation.

Ben Calhoun   July 13, 2013 at 12:59pm

Has to be arrested, and convicted, not sure that'd be a smart move on his part, then again he is a dumb ****...

samuel smith   July 13, 2013 at 7:14pm

well thats what you get in a free park a bunch of ****hole golfers if it were pay to play it would not happen cause that ensures that ****s do not come to play im sorry but that ****s gone ask freedom park in canton how many times they have been stolen from there

samuel smith   July 13, 2013 at 8:13pm

its a shame

Thomas "T" D.   July 13, 2013 at 10:27pm

It sounds more like one or a few ****hole golfers took the basket. Free park or Fee park..there are a few ****s no matter where you play. Making the reward for arrest and conviction means the basket will end up at the bottom of a lake and no chance of getting it back. I dont have the answer but jus ... more

Ben Calhoun   July 13, 2013 at 11:38pm

if it came down to a) thief gets free basket forever and never caught or b) basket ends up at bottom of lake and theif still not caught, I prefer B..

Thomas "T" D.   July 14, 2013 at 12:49am

Agreed Ben.

[member not found]   July 14, 2013 at 2:21am

I agree as well. The thought that, oh it's a free park so it's gonna happen, oh well, is why it happens. Making everyone pay isn't the answer, making everyone realize this **** won't be tolerated around here is.

samuel smith   July 14, 2013 at 4:07am

tell me one time its happened at a pay to play sorry but cass freedom and lola bandy brown all have had baskets stolen whats the common thing they have they are all free and ran down because of it all these courses are vandelized so belive what you want about pay to play but at least they have people there policeing the course sorry but the truth is just that

Timmy Redman   July 14, 2013 at 10:03am

doesnt matter if free or fee, stupid people do stupid things. this community of idiots that dont respect the game or the courses are what keep disc golf as a sport of immature drunks in most peoples minds.

Hole 7 at rolling got stolen 4 years ago

Nick Pacific   July 14, 2013 at 3:30pm

Hole 6 at Beverly Park was stolen last month, and that happened in a very upscale/clean/policed park in one of the wealthiest (Beverly Hills) neighborhoods in SE Michigan.

Nick Pacific   July 14, 2013 at 3:32pm

They should start engraving ID numbers on the pins to help prevent them from being resold or pawned, or even kept.

samuel smith   July 14, 2013 at 8:15pm

ok so 2 out of i can name off 15 in those parks alone

samuel smith   July 14, 2013 at 8:23pm

the pine is just a two inch round pipe not hard to change out you could engrave them but you cant cause they are galvinized dipped its a coating on steal that can easly be ground off and sprayed with cold galvinized i was a iron worker for 10 years theres no markings that could not be taken off

Stephen Tubbert   July 15, 2013 at 9:39am

IF there are any leads on who took the basket, a few of us talking to whomever stole it would most likely be ten times more effective than law enforcement. Also, IF law enforcement was effective at all, I wouldn't expect them to care too much about a metal basket. Hold a bandi event with part o ... more

Stephen Tubbert   July 15, 2013 at 9:47am

Not too mention, let's say the reward works. Then lets say the judge orders restitution so you two get your 200 bucks back, you will still have to waste time dealing with. If lost even an hour of my life dealing with some punk kid and a cop, I may just stab myself in the balls. I like sams idea but, since I'm poor, I will most likely just sneak in anyway...

Ben Calhoun   July 15, 2013 at 11:03am

Catching the guy, and stringing up his gutted body like a deer in the park for all to see may be a good future deterrent though..

Zach Zeneberg   July 15, 2013 at 4:58pm

I like Stephen's idea, lets take this reprehensible act and turn it into something positive--bandy hasn't had any events in a long while, it could be an opportunity to get together and have fun as a community while raising funds to replace the basket as a community (thus restoring Ben's faith in humanity.) :-)
