At the players meeting we took a vote regarding points with the majority voting to change the Leaderboard point system to stableford scoring. The intent is to more accurately portray your progress against the course instead of the people you happen to be playing with on any given night, as was the case with recording skins. All points have been reset to zero and the new scoring system begins next league night. It will be imperative that you record this on the card as you play. A fresh start for the rest of the season does not stop with the new points system. Handicaps have now been assigned to each player and will determine payouts each night giving everyone a better chance of taking home the win. Some players were missing scores and these have been filled in with their best league score to date. Your handicap is not written in stone, it will continue to be derived from your best 5 scores throughout the summer. As you improve, your handicap will increase. Make-up rounds are no longer required as handicaps are now set, so if you can make it out that's great, if not, we will see you next time.
Starting this coming Wednesday, we will begin experimenting with slight alterations to the course for the back 9 including alternate tees, baskets, and mandatories. We will also mix up the format from time to time with team play. Later I will post about the different team formats we are interested in playing. We look forward to making the game just a little different from here on out.
We are off to a good start and I would like to thank everyone for their participation and enthusiasm, it's been fun so far and I don't expect that to change.
