I would strongly suggest anyone thinking about playing here in the near future to reconsider. I have never witnessed so many mosquitoes in one place at one time in my entire life. It was completely overwhelming and miserable. I love the course and drove over an hour to play it, but walked off after 7 holes of Rivers Edge cause we couldnt take it anymore. Hopefully the park staff takes immediate action to solve this problem or i dont think i will be enjoying this amazing course for many months.
I've never seen that many mosquitoes anywhere! It was crazy!
Reed was the exact same way on Tuesday. It's seriously unbearable.
We attempted to play the main course today as well. Could not even bear to play half way before leaving. Burchfield is on Facebook so lets hope with enough postings they will do something!
If you guys follow burchfield on facebook then you would have noticed they made a post on tuesday about applying larvacide on River's Edge. But if the bugs have already hatched then there isn't much they can do short of torching the place into ovblivion.
oh they hatched alright lol
I don't think there's much the Park can do about it. We've had literally the best possible conditions for them to breed, it's little wonder there are so many. If you play in the AM, they'll be swarming as you walk the course, but they're much less active/aggressive. I played w/no bug spray last Saturday. There were millions of them but I only got one bite.

Nice link joe. Def looks like some powerful stuff. We had deep woods cutter on and it seemed about as effective as sugar water lol.
