Played on Sunday, what a fiasco. I suppose I should be more tolerant, but so many groups of 8 and larger, skipping holes at random ground the round to a standstill. Most were unwilling to let anyone play through, except on holes where smokedowns commenced. I don't have a kid, but played near several having to drag their children through these pockets of hempfests. Not against the activity, but discretion was always part of that game to me, not flaunting it. Add the need to ask some on two occasions to cease carving the picnic tables. Man, I don't really want to be "that guy". The park needs to step up and put my two bucks plus to better work....end rant. Any suggestions.

welcome to Shelby township. we've been fighting that kind of golfer for a ehile. you need to start asking around the locals before you play steve. stony is best played early on weekends or early afternoon weekdays. its. a excuse for kids to get out and be delinquints for cheap. but there's ways around it if you know the times.

I agree I feel they need to stop paying the guys in the booth by the parking lot and have people pay to play at the gate. then take the money they were gonna pay the dudes up front and pay a guy to walk the course and write situations to the a**holes on the course what didn't pay, that are in h ... more

Thanks Brandon and Doug. We usually get an early start, we know better. Just seemed pretty bad for such an early weekend. I cannot imagine the what it will be like later in the summer. Doug, I agree. Actually, a guy out there picking up trash and doing a touch of maintainance at the same time d ... more

Take pictures of these kids with your cell phone camera if you have one. Then call the park office like Jay said and give them the evidence.

Brandon"RedRum" Redmond   April 24, 2013 at 12:56am

Watson is right. If you can manage it they do have a wall of shame kinda thing. They have already banned some kids last year, and will continue to work with us, but we gotta step up and call them out when we see it.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I am not shy about asking for behavior modification when the enjoyment of others is compromised, but I am not into sacrificing my enjoyment each time out either. I strongly feel that my annual park pass and bag tag entitle me to some action on the park systems part. You have all prompted me to an email.

Every year right around this time the rants begin about teenage pot heads traveling in packs of wolves. I ONLY play Stony at 8 in the morning, otherwise its a waste of time. I thought about playing in the Friday league, except I think the group runs into the same situation.

I'm with you guys about having fun. It's impossible to enjoy the game when you have people out there that aren't even there to play. Getting pretty sick of the broken glass.
