By the way... I spoke to Riley Co. again this week. They are unsure if they want the fairway sponsorship dollars go through their accounts, or have us handle those dollars somehow. There are more pros than cons in having the RL Co. accountants receive the funds. The two biggest benefits are:
1. As a government agency, they would not have to pay sales taxes on the baskets & misc. equipment.
2. Asking individuals & businesses to donate to our club is a tougher sell than to donate to the county. (I can't blame them).
The ball is in their court to decide. I've requested an answer by Feb. 22nd so we can start locking down fairway sponsors.
