What kind of effect will the knuckleheads on the Detroit city council have on this course. With their recent decision to deny the state stewardship of this wonderful piece of land, will the eventual evolution of this course be impacted.
We're waiting on that decision first. If the state takes over,, good. If not, it's ok we're already working with the manager of the island... More info to come. Basically the entire island is protected for recreation and park only (no major buildings or businesses)

I know the politics about the Island have been up in the air, we have connected with both city and the state to make sure our baby will be taken care for by whoever ends up managing the park. This might not be an instant turnaround by either but as the community continues to express interest by showing up out there to play is how we end up with a finished off course. As of right now the Mayor of Detroit has approved our project and the Belle Isle Committee has placed Up In The Air Disc Golf with management of the grounds until we know more. Our goal is to mold and develop this course into an amazing international disc golf attraction.
Great job guys, keep up the great work. I really look forward to getting out an putting in some throws on Detroits jewel.
I'm optimistic; the momentum provided by the disc-golf folks leading the way on the island will get them past the politics. Let's not burn any bridges (pun intended) by disparaging people who may yet be in positions to help build the program.
