It's a sad day but we kind of knew it was going to happen.
On August 15th Independence Lake Park will break ground in a new waterpark that will take up the area where holes 9,10,11,16 Picnic are currently located. This is essentially the end of the Picnic course as we know it. So this years Loco Sixo will be your last chance to play it in full. The course will remain in the ground until Monday morning May 2nd. They are working on making the orange Mach III baskets the permanent baskets of the Chuck D course. It may require some welding/rework but looks to be a good possibility.
The good news is that the park is thrilled with the addition of disc golf and there are plans to expand it to 24 or 27 holes in the future. They are very happy with the added traffic in the park especially during the colder months when the park is usually empty.
They also made it a point to tell us how cool all of the regulars are out there. So thanks regulars for being cool. Lets keep up the overall atmosphere of respect out there.
