2010 / 2011 Sunnybrook Indoor Putting League status...

I hope everyone is having a great time at the 2010 / 2011 Sunnybrook Indoor Putting League.

I will be posting the results from last week and last night's play very soon. I now have the results for both so give me a day or two to format them and they will be posted. Thank you for your patience.

With the addition of Shawn Mascorro's program (Thank you Shawn!) I can't help but think that the weekly league format is running pretty smooth albeit a few hiccups every now and again.

Unfortunately, our indoor putting league season is coming to an end yet, good times are ahead as warm weather approaches.

Therefore, I am thinking of changing things up a bit to get people to start thinking about real competitive golf. Knowing that we may only have 3 or 4 weeks left inside and bigger events rapidly approaching, now might be a good time to change it up a bit the last couple of weeks.

A few of us were talking after league ended last night, maybe I was too tired from the Vegas trip, but I think that the suggestions I heard had merit. Some of the ideas I heard sounded like this:

For starters, I am thinking of not running a C pool, just an A and B pool. To make the C pool players more comfortable with this, the change would include moving the distance from 32 feet to 28 feet. This would make every putt extremely critical, yet at 28 feet still attainable.

Once we try this, and if it is accepted, maybe the last week we eliminate the B pool completely and run one pool, random draw. Again, to make this more competitive we would change the distance from 28 feet to 25 feet. Every single putt is very make-able from this distance especially inside with no wind. It is almost mandatory that both of the 25 foot putts are made.

For next year, we would move the baskets back to the 32 feet distance and bring back the pools so this would just be an experiment to see how it goes. What do you all think???

Please post up in the "Talk" section any of your ideas or thoughts on this idea...
