Friends,

I'm not sure if you were aware of a new state park scheduled for development in Harford County, Palmer State Park. It's a few miles up the road from Scarboro (turn left at the end of the drive, head toward Rt 1. Rather than turning right or left, continue straight on Trappe Road, then turn right on Forge Hill Road). A parking lot is projected off of Forge Hill Road. Here's a link to the MD write-up, a proposed map of the park, and the state's solicitation's for comments:

I know some of you may have interest as either a Harford County resident or somone who enjoys state parks. The state believes the soil type will not support playgrounds or campgrounds, but will support trail activities. Disc golf??? Not sure. The state says only activities with low environmental impact. There are 40 acres of fields available and the state recommends the procurement of additional land surrounding the park.

If you wish to comment, the deadline is May 16th, and send comments to the following email address: [email redacted].

Take care.
