It's GREAT to see "some" people give back some of their free or play time to make our area DGC's enjoyable for all.
I just got back from a little road trip and played a few courses that it looked like their wasn't a club present (Carlisle, Pa. DGC had large trees felled by a recent storm but appearred that no one of the club went to park to clean up a little, well I as a tourist pitched in as much as I could with the little time as I had a cleaned up the smaller felled trees from the tee boxes and fairways) to their respective DGC or they didn't have knowledgable people doing the work. (example, played the Black Mountain DGC in Moundsville, WV. pretty good DGC, but the leaders who are installing the tee pads totally ruined a pretty good DGC by installing 4' X 6' raised above ground tee pads with large gravel. so one has to step up and throw off dangerous tee pads with some holes over 800' long.).
The other DGC in Summit county is also having a work day this saturday. We don't get a lot of volenteers either, but todays sacrifices will benfit us tomorrow attitude will carry us through the rough so others will be able to enjoy clean fairways. May the course be with you--------------- - +
