That would be great Erik. I think Wasatch Disc Golf Club is having their first event for there 2011 series that weekend at Joker's Peak. Could get started on that Sunday following the tournament. If not I think the first weekend in April (April 2nd and 3rd) is a better date to do a massive park clean-up. There is a lot of things to be done to the park:
14 new sleeves (pin positions). Railroad tie steps on hole #4 and #8. Etiquette sign by hole #1 tee pad/practice basket. Fix Bulletin board. 7 new benches (2, 3a, 3b, 5, 10, 14, 15), Warning signs for non-golfers, Warning signs for cross traffic on holes 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 12 & 13. Fix sleeves for 2/short and 5/medium. Out-lining logs reset on 3b. Fly pads with a built-up tee pad on 3a & 3b (we CAN'T pour cement on 3a or 3b for a tee-pad but we can do fly pads/rubber). New tee signs. Indicators on tee signs to clarify where the basket is located. Light pruning of trees and brush. And of course trash.
The county said they will remove all the dead branches and trees if we pile it for them. I prefer nobody to cut ANYTHING down at anytime unless given permission from a Team Utah Director. If someone is interested in making the warning sings or the Etiquette sign that would be wonderful.
So if people could bring shovels, gloves, mowers, weed whackers, pruners, chainsaws, tree saws, blowers, wheel barrels, scrap 2x8's or bigger lumber (for benches) and any other tool of mass destruction that would be awesome. The park doesn't need much done but it needs work. The county doesn't do the work for the course, it's up to us to make it a well groomed Disc Golf Course. Thanks Erik for getting the ball rolling.
April 2nd & 3rd park clean up days.
