...maybe more of a chance for a team to not feel so discouraged if they lost the first 2 games because they might still make the playoffs depending on the margin of victory

More people winning = more people having fun...js

There is one suggestion i havent heard from anyone yet that could work for everyone..Since monday nites have expanded and we now have more courts and people and that much bigger of a pot and this is supposed to be about fun, practice, atmosphere and competition as well, why not make the payouts a little deeper, so more people can have a chance to win something, maybe even do a top 10 instead of 8( if the software can be updated for it)....makes sense and would be more of an incentive for everyone to try harder to make the playoffs..imo

I think what you've been doing the past few weeks is working fine. me being a novice player and reading a few of these post makes me feel for some of you. I would personally like to thank you guys (PROS) A pool players. Both my partners have been great. Even after the sauce kicks in ol they were more than willing to offer up tips and advice and I appreciated all of it.Thank you MCCG and ALL the others that help what so ever to bring things like this together. i even read someone was trying ... more

The great thing about all of this is we can all speak freely about the game, the format, the history etc.. No matter what the outcome, I think everyone of you want the night out to be better. In reality, none of us know what is best even though we all think we do, me included. Some want a night out to practice while some look at it as a night out to enjoy good people, maybe hang with our significant other, maybe try to win all of the cash. Whatever the reason, no one should speak or type negativi ... more

Ken like you said you dont know me very well and I dont need to be catered to Ive already
y done my thing the new pros should be catered to why practice travel and so forth if your not trying to become better I know you do. Just never understood why you need to know stats we always just knew I won couple of bucks or lost. Lastly Ive never thought to be better than anyone just because of my history in disc golf so please dont try to make it out that way.thanks

@ Darren
Why should anyone cater to the pro's?
What do the pro's do for leagues and or tournaments?
I'm relatively new to disc golf so I don't claim to know everything, but what I do know
Is that there are a lot more am's running league's, tourneys and helping to put in new courses in our area.
So please educate me on what you have done in your many years
Of disc golfing that warrants everyone to cater to you.

I've only had the pleasure to play with ... more

It should either be A/B pool or two divisions (a pro division and an am division). From reading below, it seems the latter did not work. A/B is a lot more fair and competitive than random draw. If it is completely random, then two real good putters will undoubtedly get paired up every week, and everyone else may as well leave, because they are going to win.

Another thing to remember, we are all very competitive, hell we play golf in the winter. Don't forget to just have some fun. It ... more

@Dick - how would you know if someone had like skills unless you keep stats? If you are willing to simply accept what people say for fact, I have some lake front property for sale :-)

Here is a question for anyone who keeps asking about random draw: what form of analysis is out there that proves random draw is better?

We did run the split pool one night. NO THANK YOU! It was, as you put it Ken, a big headache. The registration took longer, the games never matched one another so transitions were difficult, I was trying to putt in the (ahem) Pro pool but people were yelling at me because they needed the spreadsheet updated, etc, etc, etc...

@ John Didnt we try seperating the pro's already? It seems like we did and it was hectic? Do you remember?

Bored at work so i figured i would see if i could help on this....Mango supplied me with the spreadsheet and I’ve been crunching numbers all morning on this. If we are going to do divisions in my opinion I'm seeing this being most fair by doing A/B. Right now without adding in Monday's percentages but Monday's cash being added we have had a total of 72 different players show up. With this the A players have been cashing the most taking home $685 with B player ... more
